Book Description:
In this era of social media, we all pretend.
We pretend to be prettier, happier, more confident versions of ourselves, but not Ellen Grant. She takes it to a whole other level and pretends to be someone else entirely. Adopting the persona of a woman far more interesting is the only way she can break free of the socially awkward, romantically inept girl she really is.
And it’s all going swimmingly until she catches the eye of a man at her local coffee shop. Julian Fairchild has been noticing her for a while and he’s fascinated. Little does he know, the woman he thinks he’s obsessed with is a fake.
It’s not long before the jig is up, and Julian discovers Ellen’s true identity. However, he has a proposition. If she really wants to pretend, he can introduce her to a world where she can be anyone she wants. Ellen is intrigued by the prospect, and, blind to the nature of Julian’s profession as a male escort, closes her eyes and lets him lead the way.
Can Ellen keep her feelings in check while discovering a new world of thrills and excitement? And will Julian let it show that he isn’t entertaining Ellen purely out of the goodness of his heart?
Fauxmance is a standalone contemporary romance featuring characters first seen in L.H. Cosway’s Showmance.

There is always something different about a book written by LH Cosway and Fauxmance is no exception.
We first met Julian Fairchild in Showmance as he is Rose’s best friend. Julian is a male escort and he intrigued me. To Julian it is not all about the sex, it is about building women up and instilling confidence and helping them to overcome their fears; I really loved Julian, he was so vulnerable and so loving.
Although he has had a hard and troubled past, he tries to be upbeat and positive. Ellen Grant is shy and does her best to blend in. She resorts to desperate measures and after a make over donning a fake persona Elodie (who was a great character) decides to try and launch into life.
However when Julian sets his site’s on her, he discovers her secrets and slowly but surely builds up her confidence and she literally blooms from his attention. For me there was too much of a turn around once Ellen?/Elodie learned of Julian’s job as a male escort. Suddenly she wants to leap from a burgeoning friendship to wanting to pay for his services and for me this did not gel well. Perhaps because all Julian really wants is love and acceptance. Of course eventually through miss communication and heartache they finally get their happily ever after.
It was good to catch up with Rose and Damon and see that there are going stronger than ever; I love when an author gives us an update into previous couples.
This was not my favourite from LH Cosway but as I have come to expect from one of her books it was well written and the characters were extremely well developed.
Fake romances seem to be the books everyone’s reading and Fauxmance has to rate up amongst the best and as always L.H Cosway will have you hooked from the first chapter and let’s be honest a fake romance between a shy bookworm and an escort was always going to a be an entertaining read.
Ellen is the shy bookworm who is a bit socially awkward but once she makes up her mind to step out of her comfort zone there was no stopping her, I loved seeing Ellen fight her demons and and grow to accept what she is a beautiful soul........Julian is the man we all adored he didn’t have the best childhood but nothing was going to hold him back and I loved watching him grow into the confident compassionate man who is more observant than most people would give him credit for, he also has his own vulnerability issues which often means he often feels like he is on the outside looking in.....
Friends to lovers as well as a fake romance what else could you want well this book gives you everything you want and more it has the perfect mix of romance passion and humour, it has characters that you can’t help falling in love with add in the banter and chemistry and you get a great read. An entertaining sweet read from a very talented author.
Fauxmance is the first book by LH Cosway that I have read. I enjoyed her charming yet unconventional characters. There are so many of us who feel like Ellen on the inside, but would love to be more confident, fearless and brave like Elodie on the outside.
Ellen and Julian are such opposites but for some reason they are drawn towards each other like magnets and actually help the other one find the strength to grow and become so much more than they were before they met.
