The Way I Hate Him is such a riveting, heartfelt story that I just could NOT put down.
I found myself incredibly invested in the characters. In their life, their story. This book was incredible.
Honestly Im struggling to put into words how amazing this book is.
Having grown up in a small town Hayes returns home to be near his grandmother after she has a fall.
With life as a rockstar being so busy, Hayes needs some time to relax, escape and with his agent breathing down his neck for more songs, he needs to try to let the creative juices flow again, especially when they aren’t right now.
Being back in Almond Bay, where there is such animosity from a friendship falling out. Hayes secludes himself somewhat. When Hattie lands on his door step… his ex best friends little sister, he has to resist so much temptation, since she is now a grown woman. I really loved Hattie, having gone through much and her siblings being somewhat very cagey, she isn’t sure how to handle being back home, she struggles and its so understandable. Helping Hayes may not be smart, however, its what she has to do. However, the tension may be hard to ignore. What else can she do?
Oh boy, this age gap small town romance was such a bumpy journey and I honestly wondered what direction it would go. I was hooked from the start and the myriad of emotions this story brought out, lets just say I laughed, cried and at times also wanted to smack a character in the head…lol.
All in all this was one of the best books I have read this year. Once you start you will not want to put it down and will have a book hangover when you finish! I certainly did!
