So, North is a firefighter who gave up his chef dreams to take care of his family, and he ends up living next to Leo, who’s a disabled widower and also the brother of North’s best friend, Easton. Both of them think the other doesn’t like them, but after a tragic accident brings them together, they start to see things differently. 

Leo deals with a lot of grief and self-doubt, but North’s patience and kindness help him gradually regain his confidence. Their relationship grows naturally through real conversations, making it a heartfelt and emotional journey.

Micha and Vanya were impossible not to love. I kept turning pages because I couldn’t wait to see what happened next. Between the hilarious teammates, language barrier moments, protective family, and amazing chemistry, this book was such a fun read from start to finish. Add in a sweet happy ending, and I was completely hooked. Definitely recommend!

Family drama drives this story, but it never feels heavy—instead, it highlights Jonah’s strength and character. I enjoyed the hate-to-love dynamic and how naturally the relationships developed, especially as Jonah lets Nicos into his life during his father’s Alzheimer’s journey.

Alexio adds another great layer, and I loved his protective side.
Vanya brings humour while still acting as an unexpected voice of reason. The side characters are used well, and I’m definitely intrigued by the setup for Micah’s story.

ILY is the second book in the Deaf Hearts series and can be enjoyed as a stand-alone.  It’s a spicy, MM, strangers to lovers rom-com featuring a burnt out, not-quite farmer, a tall, dark, and handsome man with a mission and a secret, a groundhog that knows more than everyone else, and a toe-curling, feet-kicking happily ever after.
