First can I just say I love accents and, I love Louisiana! It
is a whole other world down there. Their language is something else too.
Hope she is running from her past, from someone in her life
that wants to hurt her. She lands in the French Quarter. Hope she lives in this
rundown apartment if you can even call that. She stays there because she
doesn’t want to draw attention to herself but she doesn’t have the money for
something better.
She doesn’t stay to long in one place but where she does
stay she tries to find work. Hope ends up in this little bar ran by Mamam Rose.
Who I swear is a seer or something. She has this 6th sense when it
comes to hooking people up.
Nic lost his daughter and was in a dark place of his own.
The only thing keeping him moving from day to day was his son. His ex-wife is a
bitch, money hungry hoe. When she sees that Nic might be into Hope she has to
dig her way between them.
Between Nic losing his daughter and Hope running from her
past, those two manage to come together. Well with the help of Maman Rose. She
put them into play, planted a few things in Nic’s head about Hope needing
someone. Which, she did.
Everyone loves Hope, well not Nic’s ex-wife. She hates her.
She thinks Hope is going to take her family away from her. When in reality she
lost her family.
The chemistry between Nic and Hope was great. They really
didn’t have a hard time finding things to talk about. Well at first yes but
then things just seemed to flow. There were sparks, there was Cajun that Nic spoke
that melted you. Although there were sparks Hope wasn’t ready to let Nic in.
She was afraid that he would get hurt. Come to find out she was right. But it
wasn’t from the person she was running from. It was by someone closer than
that.
This story rips your heart out, tears it to pieces and
leaves it on the ground for you to glue back together. There was a part I
screamed at because I couldn’t believe it was happening. There was a part where
I was like “Oh I know who it is” but wasn’t expecting the outcome. This had me
on the edge of my seat, wanting to read fast to find out what was going to
happen, but then I didn’t want it to end. I had those OMG moments and what in
the world just happened. Like always I want to say more but I don’t want to
give too much away. You have to pick up this book though. Don’t just take my
word for it.
