Maureen Mayer was born, raised and currently resides in Buffalo, NY with her loving and supportive family and boyfriend of 9+ years. She’s always had a love for the outdoors, and when the city isn’t buried under snow, she can be found hiking, fishing, camping or lying on the beach. She’s a sucker for off-color humor, but holds a sweet spot for sick and twisted horror films. When she’s not writing, you can find her curled up in bed with her kindle, diving into a steamy romance novel and falling in love with the latest book boyfriend.

*****WARNING You will want to have a box of tissue handy*******
Don't have a box of tissue then maybe one of those travel size packs, or a hanky, or a shirt you don't care about. You will want something to wipe away your tears and to blow your nose. This book brings light to many things. Men need to pay attention to their woman's bodies, and listen to mother's intuition.

Bittersweet Catastrophe is in Shaynes POV. I love to know what a man is thinking and how he is feeling. Shayne recalls the day Liberty ran into him. All their firsts. This story in the time frame is maybe a handful of months down the road from Unforeseen Heartbeat. Maddy has had her baby already, Hunter is off at school. Liberty is working, Shayne is working. We can't forget Bret. He is still mulling after Liberty even though she is now married to Shayne.
One night while in bed Liberty feels something on her breast. She brings this up to Shayne who really doesn't see anything so he distracts her with sex. Little did he know things are about to get real for him. Especially when they found out that Liberty is pregnant. THAT IS ALL I AM SAYING ON THAT MATTER.
Bret he still has feelings for Liberty even though she is married. I guess in a way you could say he doesn't want to realize that Liberties feelings for him are brotherly and not boyfriendnly. <-----I know not a real word!!!
This in life happen and they happen for a reason either it be fate or just pure luck. We know Shayne lost his mom to cancer. We know Liberty lost her brother to suicide. But when Liberty comes out and says something to Shayne that you never would have imagined, you start to wonder. Like Shayne you start asking questions and go through all the "what if's and how comes". This is where men need to listen to a mothers intuition and let things be. I am sure if we all were to be put in Liberties position we might have done things differently. As you keep reading Bittersweet Catastrophe you will want to throw your reading device. You will want to yell and scream and ask how can Maureen do this? Your eyes will swell up with tears and you will not want to read anymore. I am going to tell you right now. KEEP READING, PUSH YOURSELF! YOU CAN DO IT. IT GETS BETTER.
That is right. You need to keep reading. When I got to the end and read that one word. That one word. I stopped, put my kindle down, covered my face so my husband couldn't see me and I cried. That is right I cried. I cried tears of pain, tears of happiness and tears of love. I was so happy with the way this book ended. I told a friend that I was about to jump onto Facebook and email Maureen and be like "OMG how could you?" You will want to as well. What happens to Liberty and Shayne? Do they get a HEA? You my friends need to pick up the book and find out.
