First let me say that Julian's and Alexa's relationship reminds me of Katy Perry's song Hot n Cold. Seriously it did. I have to admit it started off slow for me. But once all the drama with Julian began it picked right up. I didn't want to put it down to go to bed.
Alexa had been through a lot in the past year. She goes to work and then home. She has a small circle of friends that she confides in. However the one thing she needs to tell she doesn't. She feels that once she tells people it will be real. By not letting people know it stays in the dark. She doesn't talk about her emotions that well either. She hides and she hides well.
Alexa literally runs right into Julian. I mean for real. Does that even happen in real life? Little does Alexa know that Julian has a past he doesn't like to talk about and he hies his well too. Julian is Alexa's rude awakening. He wants to know everything there is to know about Alexa. We really don't know much about Julian. We get a few bits here and there. I guess it is hard for Alexa to tell Julian about her past when he doesn't really tell her his. However Julian knows how sensitive Alexa can be, she will go off in a minute, like a ticking time bomb.
They both crave one another, they feel the electric when they touch. They know when one another is around. Julian is ready to lay it all down on the line. He is afraid that when he does Alexa will check out and go dark. How right he is. She doesn't understand why he wants her, when he can have anyone. The way Julian would deal with his past is woman. Yes he has been with some woman, they all love him, want him. He only wants one though. There is jealousy on both sides. So much so that they have butted heads a few times. Like I said their relationship reminds me of Katy Perry's song Hot n Cold. We fight, we break up, we kiss we make up!! Oh the making up with these two is out of this world.
It is a roller coaster of a read. I am sure some of you might yell at Alexa and want to throw your reading device. You might even say I will take Julian if she doesn't want him. I do have to say though the ending left me hanging. I want, no I need to know what is happening next. Did they stay together? Did she run? What in the world is going on..........

Have you ever woken up one day and said, “Today’s the day I’m
going to do (insert thing here)?” Well, I did, and the result is my first
novel, Stay. I always thought of myself as a decent writer, and then a trip
down memory lane through my ninth grade book of poetry confirmed it. I realize
that I have always had a romantic side and a way with words. With support from
my husband and kids (and an unspoken agreement to leave me alone for a few
hours every night), I embarked on this incredible writing journey.
I’m originally from sunny Southern California and spent my summers in South Florida. I attended college at FSU and received my Masters in New Mexico. I finally settled in the Washington, DC area. My happy place has always been anywhere near the water.
When I’m not writing, I help run a business with my husband, watch an inordinate amount of sports (my kids play something 365 days a year), indulge my competitive spirit on the tennis court, and spend time with my awesome family and friends.
I am an avid reader, but find my characters feel neglected when I hang out with other author’s characters for too long. When I do read, historical fiction is my favorite genre. I love traveling and experiencing different cultures, places, and times.
I feel so blessed that my love of books inspired me to finally do something that I forgot I had always dreamed about doing.
