I was given this ARC for a honest review
I want to say first off I'm a great fan of Tia Louise and for me her books just keep getting better and better.
We first met Marcus and Amy in Runway, a prequel to One to Chase but you do need to read Runway to enjoy One to Chase. Marcus and Amy meet at a wedding in Wilmington and they end up hooking up for some real hot steamy sex that leaves Marcus wanting more and Amy doing what she always does running .......
Amy is back home from Paris to look after her mother and needs a job in public relations/Marketing . A good friend suggests she visits one of Chicago's top lawyers who may have some contacts for her. She was never given his name so it was a complete shock when she walks into Marcus Merritt's office and comes face to face with the man she ran from 2 weeks ago. The other problem is Amy can't stop thinking about how good the sex was and how good this guy looks naked.....
Marcus can't believe his luck the woman he hasn't been able to get out of his mind has walked into his office. His problem is he doesn't do relationships but can't stop wanting more than the hot steamy hook up they had in Wilmington.
Both Marcus and Amy insist they don't do relationships and Marcus will never chase a woman ...........
Amy comes from Chicago's elite society but ran to Paris after some issues in high school. Marcus is not part of that society so knows nothing of her past...

I loved this story these two have so much charisma and chemistry. The sex is HOT HOT HOT and it was fun to watch Marcus do what he has never done before chase a woman...

One to Chase is book 7 in the One to Hold series by the supremely talented Tia Louise. Although the books can be read as stand-alone I highly recommend that you read from the beginning as I believe it is a benefit if you read them in order.
This is the story of Marcus Merritt an extremely successful lawyer and Amy Knight, a successful business woman in her own right. They meet a wedding in Wilmington and what followed was a sizzling interlude of wild sex. A one night stand. No questions or expectations. Marcus doesn’t do commitment and neither does Amy. In fact when Amy feels cornered she does what she does best and runs.
Circumstances bring Amy home to Chicago to care for her mother. Looking for employment her sister in law Elaine arranges for Amy to meet up with her a lawyer in hopes that he can help Amy. Imagine Amy’s shock when it turns about to be the random hook-up she had at the wedding. Both are totally shocked and yet the sparks fly immediately. Attraction and desire re-kindles instantly. Turns out Marcus is the brother of her new sister in law.
What follows is a game of cat and mouse, Marcus doesn’t chase and Amy doesn’t commit. That’s what they both tell you. That was before these two connected and spiralled down a road of hot sex, lust, passion and love. Marcus is a deeply caring man who when he falls, falls deeply. I have to say I found myself falling in love with Marcus. He just oozes confidence and dominance, things I love. He genuinely cares for those around him and is determined to be Amy’s knight in shining armour and her protector. Amy’s feisty spirit calls to me. I love her independence but most of all I loved how when vulnerable it was Marcus she turned too.
The characters in all of Tia Louise’s books seem so real. They feel like family and I love reading a new book to see what has been happening. Marcus and Amy coming together seems to make it more complete and I can’t wait to see what the future holds for all of them. The depth of writing in Tia’s books is amazing. She layers the characters so well and best of all they aren’t perfect. They have flaws like we all do and yet she makes them feel so real. That is the highest compliment I can give an author when their imagination comes to life and the stories they write are so well written that they make them real to the reader. Not to mention I would like to be adopted into this group of friends.
I am always saddened when I come to the end of Tia Louise’s novels, but I am eagerly anticipating the next in the series One to Take.
