Excerpt
A knock at the door made me jump.
With a huff, I got out of bed and stood on my tiptoes to look out the peephole.  Why were those things always so high on the door anyway?  I was surprised to find no one standing on the other side.  Maybe I’d imagined it.
Another knock.
I flicked on the lights. The sound wasn’t coming from the entrance door.  It was coming from an interior door I hadn’t even noticed before.
Chance’s door.
I unfastened the top lock and cracked it open just enough so I could see what he wanted.  And there he stood.
Shirtless.
Wearing only dark gray boxer briefs that hugged him like a second skin.
It took a minute to understand what he was doing there, even though he was holding up a toothbrush in question.
“I thought we had established I wasn’t a serial killer already.”
I opened the door wider.
He smiled.
Oh lord.  Stop that.  Right now.
“I must have left my toothpaste in my saddlebag in the car.”
I swallowed hard.  “Uh huh.”
He cocked his head to the side, and his brows dipped in.  “Can I borrow yours?”
“Oh.  Yeah, sure.”
He walked past me and let himself into my bathroom.  I waited at the door.
“You got an awful lot of girly crap in here for one night,” he said with a jumbled mouth full of toothpaste from the bathroom.  “Private Collection Tuberose Gardenia.”
He was reading my Estee Lauder perfume bottle.
I heard him rinse and spit.  Then there was a gargling sound.  He used my mouthwash, too.  Sure, help yourself.
He walked out and flicked off the bathroom light.  “Is tuberose a rose?”
I shook my head, still confused by the whole situation going on.
“That’s why,” he murmured.
“Why what?”
“I couldn’t figure out what you smelled like all day.  Not sure I ever smelled a Tuberose before.”  He shrugged and walked back into his room but not before turning back.  “Even those little black lacy underwear smell like tuberose.”
My eyes bulged.  I’d taken off my bra and panties and left them on the bathroom counter.
“You…you—”
“Relax.  I’m teasing.  Do I look like an underwear sniffer to you?”
Yes.
No.
Maybe?
“Night, Aubrey.” He graced me with a dimple and disappeared.
AH-BREE.  Damn him.
I locked the door and checked it twice, unclear if it was for my safety or his.  His voice saying my name was on audio replay inside my head, getting softer and softer like a soothing lullaby with each breath as I drifted off to dreamland.
Until the knock came again.

Cocky Bastard is really about second chances at love that took a wrong turn for all the right reasons. 

Aubrey was traveling across the country to start a new life. What she didn't realize was that cocky Aussie who scared her half out her panties was the one who would turn it all around.
Chance is literally sex on a stick, drop dead gorgeous, make you wet in an instant kind of guy. Not only just for his looks,  for his his humor and his loyalty to family. 
Chance was stuck and Aubrey needed help. They struck up a deal. This deal though it was so much more than merely a ride to Cali.
These two meet in a little convenient store in the middle of no where, only to be left needing one another's help. You wouldn't think this was a biker book. I mean Chance rides a bike, he doesn't really talk the slang. However he does have that alpha male ego. OMG let another man touch Aubrey and Chance is steaming. Although they are "friends" they fight to touch one another, they fight to claim each other.
The trip held a different meaning for Chance and Aubrey. Aubrey running to a new life and well Chance we really didn't know his story. Well that is until 1 night when they couldn't keep their pants on. Aubrey took control of the reins and she did what she had fantasized about. A hot biker having his way with her. Oh that night was magical alright, not just for her but for Chance as well.
However one thing Aubrey wasn't counting was getting her heart broken. Chance took her heart into his hands and crushed it. She tried to move, she did move on. Chance was always there at the back of her mind.
Fast forward a few years we find out what happened to Chance. Like I said his loyalty to family is hot. He finds Audrey and turns her world upside down once again. He bends over backwards to show that he wants her and not just for a week. He wants her to be in his life forever. 
Aubrey is shocked to say the least. She never thought she would see him again. She makes Chance work at being back in her life. From buying her coffee every morning to taking her on little road trips. Chance who is still in love with Aubrey makes her fall head over heels for him all over again.
The story flowed smoothly. There was laughter, there was a few times where I gasped. There were many times where I wanted to hurry up and read quickly so I could see what would happen next. Knowing what happened to Chance will melt your heart, make you feel a gooey. 
I love Vi and all her work. This is the first read for me from Penelope but it will not be my last.

I received this book in exchange for an honest review.
Both of these are new authors to me and when my blog asked if I was interested in reading and reviewing, I thought, why not? The fact that the hero is an Australia drew me straight away since I too am an Australian.
A cross country road trip never sounded like so much fun as the trip these two embarked on. A chance meeting in a Nebraska road stop changes both their lives forever.
I fell in love with Chance Bateman, a cocky Australian who just did it for me. Aubrey Bloom, she quickly grew on me as I read the book, although she did frustrate me at times.
I kept reading to see where it was going and what was going to happen next. I really didn’t want to put it down. That is how good this book is. The writing was fantastic and the authors brought all the characters to life for me.
It invoked laughter, anger, sadness, pride and disbelief. A sure sign that I was invested in the book from the very first, until the very last word was written. And the outcome of Chance and Aubrey’s story, wow. I laughed so much reading this book that I almost cried. I sure got some strange looks from fellow passengers on the train. The chemistry between Chance and Aubrey was instantaneous and it continued throughout the book. I have to say that “their child” was a hoot and almost stole the book
Having said all that it was also an emotional read "Sometimes it takes losing everything to make you realize what you really need." Never have I cheered for anyone as I did for Chance.
All I can say is if this book isn’t on your TBR then change that immediately. Take a chance (pun intended), you will not be disappointed. I can only hope that there is another book about this awesome couple in our future.

I was given this book for a honest review.
This was the first book I have read by these two authors and it won't be the last.
Aubrey has packed up all her worldly possessions into her Black BMW and is heading to California. At a rest stop she runs into Chance a sexy Australian who comes to her rescue after a incident with a Obama Bobble Head Doll. Aubrey is all set to head off when she spots the handsome Aussie having problems with his Harley. 
Chance convinces Aubrey to give him a lift and this is where the fun really begins..........
Chance has no filter on his mouth and the banter between these two will have you laughing out loud add into the equation a blind fainting goat (yes you read that right) and you will end up like me laughing till you cry .
Aubrey and Chance end up in Vegas for a few days and both end up doing things they never dreamed of doing.
I really don't want to give to much of the story away but Cocky Bastard has it all, Romance, Humor and Second Chance Love.
Aubrey and Chance have a chemistry that is hard to describe except to say this book has left me wanting more from them.
I will certainly be looking for more from Penelope Ward and Vi Keeland
