I was given this book for a honest review.
This is the first book I have read by Tami Lund and it won't be the last. I believe this can be read and enjoyed as a standalone.
Connor has always wanted to be in charge of his own kitchen and heads off to a casino in Louisiana to be a head chef and fulfill his dream, but things don't go to plan and he finds himself in a small town called Uncertain TX.
Emily Kate owns and runs Louisiana's Kitchen and Connor could not have arrived at a better time as her chef had left with no notice.
Connor has it all looks and charm and manages to convince Emily Kate to let him run the kitchen, this then leads to him charming his way into Emily Kate's bed ......
The problem is Connor has a secret that will lead to all sorts of twists and turns.
I fell in love with these two from page one and loved that this wasn't just about a sweet romance we did have some twists and plots along the way with some hot sex thrown in. The characters had chemistry and even with characters from previous books coming into the story I did not lose the plot.

I have to say when I first started reading; I didn’t think much of the hero Connor Rikeland. Connor is a Chef and has worked in some top restaurants, but never as the Head or Executive Chef, only (in his eyes) as a Sous Chef. Due to circumstances and his own bad decisions, Connor suddenly finds himself in dire straits. He has no job, his wallet with all his money, cards and id has been stolen and he is on the run.
Through sheer luck he ends up at the Louisiana Kitchen in Texas, owned by Emily Kate. She runs the restaurant built by her Papaw. She yearns to do what her heart desires and that is to paint. But she is
tied to Louisiana Kitchen. When her current head chef suddenly up and leaves, she is distraught not knowing what she will do.
Enter Connor. He has always wanted to be the Head or Executive Chef and Emily Kate offers him the chance to realize his dream. The attraction between them is instantaneous. Connor sweet talks himself not only into the job but into her bed.
The sex is steamy and throughout the book Connor grew on me. I loved how supportive he was regarding Emily Kate’s own dreams. Not to mention how protective of her he becomes. Throw in
some bad guys and an extremely over reacting big brother who is determined to save Emily Kate from herself and in turn Connor and you have Delicious Deception.This was a new author to me and I am so pleased that I have found Tami Lund. I really enjoyed this book. It was well written and an interesting story line. I will now have to go back and read the previous books in this series.
