ONE IMMORTAL
(A paranormal retelling of the Derek & Melissa story)

Melissa
Derek clears his throat, and glances down. “You told them?”
“Told us what?” Patrick looks up from where he and Elaine are sharing a private tête-à-tête consisting of smiles and soft laughter.
“My friend got a little hungry last night.” Elaine gives him a wink, but his expression turns fierce. If my friend weren’t blocking him, he’d be on his feet grabbing me.
“What the fuck?”
Derek extends a strong arm. “Take it easy. It doesn’t concern you.”
“Fucking concerns me if you end up dead and drained.”
“Oh god,” I whisper. “I’m sorry.” Turning in my seat, I have a straight shot for the door, and I take it.
I’m down the short flight of stairs, out on the flagstone sidewalk, when Derek catches me, cornering me between a white stucco column and a curtained window. His large body shields me from the street traffic.
“Where are you going?” A smile is in his voice, but I’m on the verge of tears.
“He’s right. I can’t risk your life like this.”
“It’s my decision, and I want to help you.”
Holding his arms, I can’t stop a shiver. “If anything happened to you. If I couldn’t stop—”
“You will. You controlled it last night. You’ll control it again.”
Shaking my head, my fingers tighten on his biceps. “You have no idea how hard it is to control.” His nearness, his breath against my skin sends desire racing to my core. “I can barely control it now.”
His head lowers, his breath a warm whisper at my cheek. “What are you feeling right now?”
Lifting my chin, I take a deep inhale of his masculine scent. My nose just touches his collarbone, following the line of his neck higher. My insides clench, and I feel his muscles respond to my nearness, beckoning me on. His pulse is just beneath his skin. A whispered moan exhales through my lips as they part, allowing me to touch him with my tongue.
With a hiss, I realize my fangs are out. I’m on the street, in the middle of a mercifully overcast day, on the edge of biting him again. My hand flies to cover my mouth, and I see desire burning in his navy eyes.
“Oh, god, Derek.” I can barely speak between my changed features and my hand.
He shocks me when he only grins. “Glad I’m not the only one who can’t hide how attracted I am to you.” A shift of his hips, and I feel the erection nudging my thigh.
It’s exactly what I needed, because a little laugh chokes out with my frightened tears. He pulls my face to his chest while we both attempt to regain control.
“Deep breaths, my love. I’m not going anywhere, and you’re not going to hurt me.”

I was given this book for a honest review
First up I have to say I'm a great fan of Tia Louise and Derek and Melissa hold a special place in my heart as One to Hold was where it began, so I wasn't sure how this book was going to go.......
This is Derek and Melissa's story with a twist, Tia takes us into the paranormal world of Vampires, Witches, Shifters and Psychics.....
Derek is a vampire hunter searching for his wife's killer and Melissa is on the run trying to find a way to become human again.
This is fantasy at its best, Its hot and I mean steaming, Its a paranormal love story.
I loved that all of the gang from the One to Hold series make an appearance in one form or another.
Tia Louise has once again given us a 5 star book

Tia Louise completely captivates you with the richness of her words and the incredible character development and storyline that transfixes you to her every word.
One Immortal is a heart pounding paranormal romance, that will sweep you off your feet.
Derek Alexander is a hot former Marine, and a paranormal detective, who has come home to New Orleans for answers.
Melissa Jones and her devoted best friend, Elaine, have traveled to New Orleans from North Carolina in search for answers that could save Melissa from a fate she does not want.
When Derek and Melissa meet, they have an instant draw to each other that neither can deny. The only problem is, Melissa is fighting becoming something she doesn't want to be, while still trying to cherish every moment with Derek she can. And Derek is determined to protect her, no matter the cost.
The question remains though; will they have time to save Melissa from her fate or will the paranormal forces out rule them ?
I absolutely soaked up every moment and word of this book. Louise did an outstanding job of creating a backdrop that you can immerse yourself in, while following a storyline filled with passion, commitment, and the need to protect the other no matter the cost.
Derek and Melissa are characters that you will find yourself falling in love with from the very beginning of the book and that love will only grow as you continue to read and see how selfless they both are.

I received this book in exchange for an honest review.
This is a paranormal re telling of Melissa and Derek’s story from the One to Hold series. In this story, Melissa is a reluctant vampire and Derek a vampire hunter. I thoroughly enjoyed reading this story. Derek and Melissa have always been my favorite couple and in this book Tia Louise manages to surpass their previous books. Something I never thought would happen.
One Immortal, is Tia Louise writing at her best. It is sexy, naughty and amazing. I love her style of writing and was amazed at the way she integrated into the paranormal realm in this book. The chemistry between Derek and Melissa is even hotter and I didn’t think that could be the case.
This book is set against the backdrop of New Orleans and Tia Louise brought it to life for me so much so that I truly want to visit. Of course if I happen upon a Derek Alexander clone, I would not be disappointed.
Derek is determined to hunt down Vampires and destroy them whilst Melissa is seeking a cure. She doesn’t want to be a Vampire and is trying to hide from the one who turned her.
The connection they have between them is instant and sizzling. It simply, must be.
It was wonderful to read about vampires, shifters and witches working together to help Melissa remain a human. I certainly hope that Tia Louise writes more in the paranormal genre as she certainly has a gift for it.
I highly recommend this book and the wonderfully talented Tia Louise to you all.
