Reviews by Marina and Jackie: The Best Goodbye (Rosemary Beach #13) by Abbi Glines

From #1 New York Times bestselling author Abbi Glines comes the next sizzling novel in the Rosemary Beach series, featuring well-known playboy and Blaire’s half brother, Captain.

The look on Rose’s face had screamed that she was hiding something. Hell, she’d practically run away from me. There was something to that. I knew there was...

After ten years in the employ of a mysterious crime boss, River “Captain” Kipling is ready to leave his sordid past—and his cover occupation as an upscale restaurateur—behind him. The only thing standing in the way of his “retirement” is his commitment to launch a new restaurant in the resort town of Rosemary Beach. With his sister, Blaire, nearby, Captain can delay his dream of running a humble bar on the waterfront, but the unwanted attentions of his head server, Elle, have him itching to get out.

Until he notices Rose Henderson, the new server at the restaurant. All he knows about the pretty redhead with the cute glasses is that she’s a hardworking single mom from Oklahoma. But there’s something overly familiar about her laugh...something strange about the way she looks at Captain...

I was absolutely ecstatic when this turned up in the mail from Simon & Schuster au!

I couldn't wait to dive in and read it!!

I was hooked from beginning to end!

River 'Captain' Kipling is a rather private man!
After reading the book before this one I was excited to read Captains story!
He lost the love of his life at an early age and still struggles to this day! His family and his friends have no idea who he really is! I liked the mystery about him, the way he was very much an alpha but he also has a big heart!
Enter Rose, she is working at the restaurant where Captain is the manager! They don't seem to see eye to eye from the start But when Roses secret comes out, needless to say Captain is beside himself! Like he sees a ghost and the feelings from his past come rushing back!
I especially loved when Blaire and Rush pop up! Captain is Blaire's sister and it's great to see the family dynamic grow! The way it ended was great!!
I loved Rose, she was very protective about a certain person and extremely independent!
This book was very easy to read, I loved the characters and the way they became! I couldn't put it down!
Thanks for another great book Abbi, can't wait to read the next one!

I received this Paperback book from S&S Australia  for an honest review.

I have to admit Abbi Glines is a relatively new author to me but the more books I read by her the more I fall in love with her  and her characters.

This is book 13 in The Rosemary Beach Series and I have only read a few of them but still enjoyed The Best Goodbye.

Addy/Rose and River/Captain knew each other as teenagers in the foster care system but were separated at 16 after falling for  each other. When Rose comes to Rosemary Beach it is not by chance, she is on a mission to search Captain out and she even goes so far as to change her appearance. She has become a strong woman who knows what she  wants and will do what she needs to get it.....
River has become Captain and is now a cold heartless man who lives for his job and wants no distractions in his life.  How will he take the news Rose brings with her.......

This book is about Family, Forgiveness and most of all True Love, its a second chance love story with some twists and turns and you will have to read it to find out if they get there HEA.
It has great characters that you will love even if you haven't read the whole series, its steamy and hot as well as having a plot

Loved it.

Abbi Glines is a #1 New York Times, USA Today, and Wall Street Journal bestselling author of the Rosemary Beach, Sea Breeze, Vincent Boys, and Existence series. She has a new YA series coming out in the fall of 2015 titled The Field Party Series . She never cooks unless baking during the Christmas holiday counts. She believes in ghosts and has a habit of asking people if their house is haunted before she goes in it. She drinks afternoon tea because she wants to be British but alas she was born in Alabama. When asked how many books she has written she has to stop and count on her fingers. When she’s not locked away writing, she is reading, shopping (major shoe and purse addiction), sneaking off to the movies alone, and listening to the drama in her teenagers lives while making mental notes on the good stuff to use later. Don’t judge.
