This is the second book in the Elite Forces series and continues on from where Ice left off. So if you haven’t yet read Ice you will need to do so before you read Fire.
What can I say? I loved it. I knew they would step it up since Ice was so awesome but wow, this one really was a roller-coaster of a read. The continuation of Kaleb Maverick and Jade Elliott’s story was everything I thought it would be.
When their mission goes horribly wrong, Fire (Kaleb) is captured and despite Ice’s (Jade) pleas they have no choice but to leave him behind. Nearly tortured to death, he clings to the knowledge that Ice and his team do not leave a man behind and he knows that eventually they will come to rescue him.
All Kaleb has to do is survive until they return to rescue him. But that is the question, can Kaleb survive? Or will Jade and the team be too late?
The love these two have for each other shines throughout and is the one constant in the nightmare that Kaleb and Jade are both living through.
This is such a hard review to write as I do not want to give away any spoilers. I love a military man, add in a bad ass heroine, some hints of BDSM, raunchy and kinky sex and I am there. The action is fast paced, I was on the edge of my seat and I read this book in almost one read. I just didn’t want to put it down; I had to know what happened! The sex scenes are absolutely scorching; the love and chemistry between Kaleb and Jade is so intense, you can almost feel it.
There were some scenes that were a tad gruesome, but they are integral to the story and were extremely well written.
The continuity between the authors was seamless. I have no idea who wrote which part and honestly, it doesn’t matter. It was brilliant from start to finish.

This has fast become one of my favorite series this year and I am anxiously awaiting book 3. Congratulations Hilary Storm and Kathy Coopmans and well done you have an absolute winner on your hands!

This is book 2 in the Elite Forces Series and as it starts right where book 1 ends, so you really do need to read Ice the first book.
Kaleb (Fire) is captured and is being tortured but by who?? Is it the Mexican drug lord or someone closer to home? The only thing that is keeping his will to live is his memories of Jade (Ice). Jade needs to get back to rescue him, it broke her heart to leave him behind but they needed to get everyone else out.
This book is full of action and drama plus a very intense love story. The characters are family, maybe not by blood but family just the same, who will do whatever is needed to protect each other.
Hilary and Kathy have given us a brilliant series that just gets better and better and its amazing that right through the book, you don't know who wrote what part.
Looking forward to more in this series.
