Beard Science
by Penny Reid Winston Brothers #3 Publication Date: October 11, 2016 Genres: Adult, Contemporary, Humor, RomanceMake a deal with the devil and you might get what you want, but will it be what you need? Jennifer Sylvester wants one thing, and that one thing is NOT to be Tennessee’s reigning Banana Cake Queen. Ever the perpetual good girl and obedient daughter, Jennifer is buckling under the weight of her social media celebrity, her mother’s ambitions, and her father’s puritanical mandates. Jennifer is officially desperate. And desperate times call for Cletus Winston. Cletus Winston is a puzzle wrapped in a mystery covered in conundrum sauce, and now he’s in a pickle. Despite being convinced of his own omniscience, extortion by the exalted Banana Cake Queen of Green Valley has taken him completely by surprise. So… what’s a maniacal mastermind to do? Likely, the last thing you expect. ‘Beard Science’ is the third book in the Winston Brothers series, is a full-length romantic comedy novel, and can be read as a standalone.
This is Book 3 in The Winston Brothers and once again Penny Reid has given us just the right amount of romance and humor.
Cletus is the one who always looks out for the family, he is the one that makes sure everything is good but at times he has to fight his own demons. Maybe now is the time for him to come first.
Jennifer Sylvester is Tennessee's Banana Cake Queen (yes you read that right). Jennifer has two passions, baking and people watching and she can't stop watching Cletus.
I loved how we saw these two grow and not in a lovey dovey way, their life's changed and the funny thing was, neither of them realised change was needed. They are strong characters that challenged each other throughout the story but in the end love was always going to win.
Cletus and Jennifer felt real, they were funny, passionate and at times frustrating but that's what made me love this book. I liked that they got to know each other before it got hot and steamy.
Great read.
