I have only read a couple of books by Virna DePaul and I haven't read book one in this series, it made no difference to the enjoyment I got from this book, so I would say you can definitely read this one as a standalone.

This book had me hooked from the first chapter and I loved that this was a different take on a Cinderella story, this one gives us a princess and not a prince. Perfect combination of a modern day romance and a fairytale. I will be going back to read book one in this series .
