The Forbidden is a very different side to Jodi Ellen Malpas's writing, it's raw, it's dark, it's heart wrenching , its witty and as the title says it's Forbidden, that being said it captivated me, it drew me in, a taboo subject with plenty of angst but I couldn't put it down and I read it in one sitting.
This is a standalone featuring Jack Joseph and Annie Ryan a couple who meet in a bar, one thing leads to another and they end up having the best night of their lives, never to meet again or will they, fate sometimes works in mysterious ways.....I fell for Jack big time (I didn't want to, I wanted to hate him) but he sucked me in just like he sucked Annie in and although I struggled at times with the story I needed to know how fate worked out for them. Every character in this book is strong and has depth, the supporting characters are loyal and witty whilst staying true to their own beliefs. This book is a beautifully written story that will have you on a emotional roller coaster, i felt every emotion possible in those few hours and in the end I have to say this is quite possible the best we have seen from Jodi Ellen Malpas and I don't say that lightly I'm a huge Jesse fan. What's next for this very talented writer who knows, she seems to be going from strength to strength and is not afraid to cover subjects others skim over.

Sizzling tension....
I had no idea going into this book about what The Forbidden
could mean!
Yes, it's about something forbidden but in my eyes you
cannot deny such a strong connection the characters have!!!
I absolutely loved all the characters bar one, when you read
the book you will know who I mean!
I loved the way the story folded, the sizzling connection
you could FEEL, the banter was great between Annie and her friends!
I just thoroughly enjoyed this romance story that had my
heart hammering in my chest at what could happen!
I experienced a multitude of emotions whilst reading and I
really liked the way it ended!!
I have to say this would have to be one of my favourite
books by this author and I cannot wait to see what she has in store for us to
read next!
Jack and Annie's story will amaze you but may make you
question some things and that's ok!! Life is all about the experience!!
