THE BACHELOR CONTRACT by Rachel Van Dyken (November 28, 2017; Forever Mass Market; $7.99; The Bachelors of Arizona Book 3)

A second-chance romance from the #1 New York Times bestseller of The BetMatchmaker and Elite series!

She's everywhere.

Ex-wife.

Love of his life.

The last person in the world he wanted to see...ever.

And now that he's working beside her every day, he can't escape her. Her scent, glimpses of her smile, even the tension in the air that makes his body hum with the kind of need he'd only experienced with one person-all of it is driving him over the edge.

Brant Wellington was certain of three things:

Alcohol wasn't going to solve this.

He really was losing his F-ing mind.

And his gorgeous ex-wife was going to be the death of him.

Blitz excerpt

It was Brant.
Always Brant.
Maybe that was because they’d never had any real closure. Just fighting, yelling, and then silence.
God, she’d hated the silence so much more than the yelling.
The silence crackled with tension—it was always filled with more meaning than when words were actually spoken.
It wasn’t the yelling that had killed their relationship.
It was the silence that had followed. When he had every opportunity to fix it—and didn’t.
Why was it so hard to move on? Probably because she hadn’t tried.
Instead, she’d worked. Tried to stay positive. And hoped.
Damn hope. Stupid hope.
“He’s not coming back for me,” she whispered, knowing that if she finally admitted he wasn’t coming, she would have to take her part of the blame in why. Because it wasn’t just on him to come running back. A small part of her knew that it was her job to meet him halfway. Instead, she’d ignored the need in his eyes, the desperate plea in his voice, and allowed grief to swallow her whole. Because at the time she’d needed someone to blame, and it was easier blaming him than herself.

Book 3 in The Bachelors of Arizona and this is Brant and Nikki’s story, what happens when you end up working with the last person you expect or want to see, well that’s just what happens to Brant when he find himself working with his ex wife.
They married young and as the story goes on you understand why they ended up going their own ways, a second chance at love maybe, the problem is they need to get past the past before that can happen and the past is heartbreaking.
Once again Rachel Van Dyken has given us a story that’s emotional it will make you laugh but you will also feel the heartfelt struggles this couple have gone through.
I loved reading Brant and Nikki’s story and this is one of my favourite series. A beautifully written love story with just the right amount of humour.

I'm kind of speechless at the whole drama, emotional moments and funny parts in this story. This is the third book in the series and Brant and Nikki's story.
Brant and Nikki married young and through certain circumstances drifted apart. We learn why, we come to know how each of them felt and truths come out. This is a story with so many feels and then you add Grandma Nadine into the mix and well, as they say the rest is history..lol. Her zest and funny ideas as well as pushing people to do things really make the story. I really enjoyed reading it. You will no doubt as well.

This is the first book by Rachel Van Dyken that I have read and although it is the third book in The Bachelor’s of Arizona series it can be read as a standalone.
I had a hard time liking Brant through most of the book. How could he walk away from Nikki all those years ago when she needed him the most? They were both hurt and broken but to say you love her and walk away?  At least he does finally come around and figures out how to work things out and win her back.
I did enjoy the actual writing of the book mixed with some good one-liners and humor from the characters, especially Cole!
