Release Day Blitz & Review by Erin & Jackie: Reed by Sawyer Bennett

Reed (Cold Fury, Book #10) Sawyer Bennett Release Date: February 6, 2018

Synopsis: Hockey season may be over, but in New York Times bestselling author Sawyer Bennett’s new novel, a Carolina Cold Fury heartbreaker is heating things up off the ice and eager to score with the girl next door. No one skates like Reed Olson. In the off-season, no one plays like him either. After back-to-back championships, Reed craves a different kind of action. Good thing there’s no shortage of women ready for a summer fling with a sports star. Reed has a specific type—blond, busty, not too bright—and a little black book full of options. But when his bed starts rocking, it’s his unexpectedly sexy neighbor who comes knocking. And the brainy beauty is impossible to ignore. Josie Ives desperately needs something her celebrity neighbor obviously doesn’t: sleep. His headboard banging against the wall is keeping her up at night—not to mention inspiring some very naughty dreams. Reed is everything she imagined: a little too good-looking, with a body that puts Greek gods to shame. But he’s also funny and charming—a tempting combination. Josie’s the opposite of his type, yet the chemistry between them is undeniable. Their friendship certainly has its benefits, and it’s heating up to be so much more.
Sawyer Bennett’s New York Times bestselling Carolina Cold Fury series can be read together or separately.

This is book 10 in one of my favourite series and this time it is Reed Olson and Josie Ives who heat up the sheets.

Can it really be true that opposites attract? Reed is a player, both on and off the ice not looking for romance, just a good time with a hot blonde who is not too bright. Josie is the girl next door, a dark haired, lovely and obviously clever woman.

Josie desperately in need of sleep, heads over to her neighbour Reed’s to request he be  considerate. All she wants is a little less knocking of the headboard on the walls at night which is keeping her awake. Josie is surprised to find that not only is Reed as handsome and tempting as she thought he would be, but he is also extremely funny and charming. A friendship soon forms but can it develop into more when these two obviously have nothing in common?

Josie is one of those feisty characters that I loved from the start, Reed not so much although I am pleased to say that he grew on me as the book progressed. Together the two of them  absolutely sizzle, their chemistry smoulders to a point where you expect them to explode.

The banter between Reed and Josie had me in stitches at times and there were quite a few funny moments. Sawyer Bennett’s characters are always strong, yet vulnerable and her writing is excellent.

This series gets better and better and the Cold Fury team seems to me to be a family and I loved catching up on the previous couples and seeing what is happening in their lives.

I voluntarily reviewed an Advanced Reader Copy of this book through NetGalley from the publisher.

Wow.... who would have thought 10 books into the Cold Fury Hockey Series we would still be clambering for more and who would have thought Sawyer Bennett would still be giving us 5 Stars reads...well I would because I really believe she is one very talented author who gives us her all with every book she releases and Reed is no different it’s a brilliant read. Book ten is Reed Olson and Josie Ives story and it really is a case of opposites attract but can they get past the many differences they seem to have, he is a player on the ice and off the ice, he likes to have fun with blondes who don’t have too much to say and Josie is the girl next door who has to put up with the wallbanging and screaming barbies, she is the complete opposite to his normal girl, she is smart, sassy and is a brunette. One night after finishing her shift as a emergency room doctor the wallbanging gets too much so at 1am she knocks on Reed’s door to confront him, instant attraction or  instant lust all Reed knows is he needs to get to know more about his cute neighbor......
This book starts off with a very funny first chapter moves onto a friends to lovers romance and finally a HEA. I loved the journey Sawyer Bennett took us on as Reed and Josie got to know each other and finally fell in love, did Josie tame the player or was that man always hiding under the surface just waiting for the perfect mate. A couple that I hope appear in future books because I really want to know where life takes the couple I loved from the first page of this great book.
