Reviews by Marina & Jackie: Roomies by Christina Lauren

Marriages of convenience are so…inconvenient.

Rescued by Calvin McLoughlin from a would-be subway attacker, Holland Bakker pays the brilliant musician back by pulling some of her errand-girl strings and getting him an audition with a big-time musical director. When the tryout goes better than even Holland could have imagined, Calvin is set for a great entry into Broadway—until he admits his student visa has expired and he’s in the country illegally.

Holland impulsively offers to wed the Irishman to keep him in New York, her growing infatuation a secret only to him. As their relationship evolves from awkward roommates to besotted lovers, Calvin becomes the darling of Broadway. In the middle of the theatrics and the acting-not-acting, what will it take for Holland and Calvin to realise that they both stopped pretending a long time ago?

Roomies is a really sweet read with characters that tug at your heart
I really enjoyed reading the story about Holland and Calvin and the beautiful family dynamic in the book!!
It was a very refreshing intriguing story that will have you wanting a happy ending!!
Whilst working at her uncles theatre place and the various jobs she does there, her ability to scout for talent is found when she recommends a busker to join the show!!! Needless to say things are frought with complications due to Calvin not being American!
The love, the bonds and the choices made will show you some people will so anything for those they love!
I loved Calvin, his heart was beautiful, his talent amazing and his accent, swoon worthy!
Sometimes things are meant to be and I think this story highlights that perhaps love can conquer all!!
Roomies would have to be a favourite of 2018!

Christina Lauren are amongst my favourite authors and I really don’t think they are capable of giving us a bad book.
Roomies is a sweet romantic read with great lovable characters. How far would you go to help your roommate out? If you love modern day love stories full of romance and laughter this is the book for you and I’m sure it will be a book you won’t be able to put down.
A marriage of convenience has been done many times before but once this writing due puts their stamp on it the whole story jumps to another level, the chemistry is is sizzling and the banter was perfect. Great book that I couldn’t put down.
