Now…what do you say to some Italian ices? Ever been to Hank’s?” She shook her head. “I’ve passed it but there’s always been a ridiculous crowd of people out front.” “Well, it’s worth the wait. Feel like going on the way home?” She nodded. “If you can keep me occupied while we wait, then I don’t mind.” He laughed. “I think I like that challenge.” When they arrived at Hank’s, an outdoor ice cream and Italian ices stand, they discovered a short line. Not enough for him to have to entertain her, and before they knew it, they were ordering. Because they also had ice cream, Halley changed her mind when it came to ordering and asked for vanilla ice cream with hot fudge topping. Kane got a red Italian ice. They took their desserts and walked over to a short brick wall and hopped up, sitting side by side, legs swinging as they ate. He finished his first. “Good?” he asked, putting his cup down beside him. She glanced over, laughing. “Your tongue is red.” He stuck it out at her and grinned. “Want some of mine?” She held out the spoon of vanilla and chocolate mixed. “No, doesn’t exactly mix with my cherry.” He paused, as if thinking of something. “Unless…” “Hmm?” She raised an eyebrow. “Unless I’m kissing you.” And before she could react, he leaned over and swept his tongue over her lips and into her mouth, devouring her quickly but thoroughly. She moaned into him, leaning in close, savoring the warm cherry flavor he brought to her dessert. Before she was ready, he lifted his head and met her gaze, his eyes dark and hungry. “Now that is how to eat an ice cream.”

Ms.Phillips is off to a flying start with her latest series; this book got and kept my attention from the start and I read it in one sitting.
Kane Harmon lives and works in Rosewood Bay running his garage business. He has no time for a committed relationship after being burnt before.When he takes his tow truck out to rescue a customer he is shocked to find the woman is Halley Ward, a woman he used to protect against school bullies in his youth. He had no idea that Halley was still in Rosewood Bay.
Halley is lives the life of a hermit, distant from her family, she lives a life of solitude near the beach. From the moment Kane sets eyes on her again, he is attracted to her and is determined to bring Halley back to life, for her to re connect with her family and with life itself.
Of course the only drawback to this plan is that Halley is not interested, or so she says. As Kane slowly chips away at the brick wall she has surrounded herself with, Halley becomes more and more intrigued with him and slowly opens up.
I fell hard and fast for Kane, he is so kind and caring and swoon worthy; honestly I challenge anyone not to fall for Kane.Halley has overcome so much and I really was cheering for her to get her happily ever after.

Things could be about to change for Kane when he goes on a tow truck pickup and he finds the woman stranded is no other than Halley Ward a woman he hasn’t seen in years, maybe Kane is about to realise relationships can work if you are with the right person, but will Halley want a man in her life.......
What can I say about the characters in this book apart from you will fall in love with them, Kane is the sweetest, kindest , caring man you could wish to meet and Halley is the girl that was bullied at school learning not everyone is out to hurt you and maybe she should and could open up her heart......
This book has strong characters and an even stronger storyline, it captivated me and I could not put it down, it left me wanting more and I can’t wait for book two in this amazing series. I’m going to go as far as saying THIS IS A MUST READ !!!!!
