Release Day Blitz: BACK IN THE GAME by Meghan Quinn

Single dad and hockey star, Calder Weiss has put his love life on the back burner for the past five years, raising his daughter and keeping up with the demands of his profession. But all that changes the minute Rachel Perry runs into him in the most unlikely of places, right outside the men's bathroom. Vibrant and enchanting, she captures his attention, making it impossible for him to walk away without scoring her number. Their connection is immediate, their attraction palpable, and their relationship undeniable. But Rachel isn't the only girl in Calder's life which scares him, because Calder's daughter already lost her mother. He doesn't want Shea to lose someone close to her again, making Rachel's task of breaking through Calder's wall that much more difficult.

What a fun, quick, heart warming read which I totally loved. What’s not to love? Calder is a totally hot, alpha hockey player who is a single dad who he will do absolutely anything to ensure his daughter Shea's happiness.
When Calder bumps into Rachel at a Mexican restaurant, he is dressed up as a fairy called Wanda, complete with fairy wings and a Tiara, all in the name of love for his daughter. Rachel is fascinated and intrigued by Calder, a man so comfortable in his own skin that he literally has no hesitation in doing everything he can for Shea.
Being a single dad, means it has been a long time since he has been on a date and he is nervous about getting back into the game.
Although there were many humorous moments in this book, underneath it all was the very real fear of not being accepted and being left alone. Calder and Rachel are strong characters whom I totally loved; perfectly suited for each other.
Calder is perhaps one of the most swoon worthy heroes I have read about in a long time, for me I fell for him as hard and fast as Rachel did. He is so strong and yet he is totally vulnerable and Ms.Quinn manages to show the contrasts in such a way as to make me smile. He doesn't want to rush in and introduce Rachel to Shea as he is uncertain what would happen if they were to break up. It is that vulnerability and the care and love he shows that got to me.
The banter between Calder and Rachel as well as his team mates had me shaking my head at times, it was just so addictive.

Although not a long read, Back In The Game ticked all the boxes for me and more.

Back in the Game is a sweet, funny, love at first sight, quick read.
Being a single dad and out of the dating game for a while, Calder literally runs into Rachel and the sparks start flying!
As always Meghan Quinn can write! The witty, flirtatious texts messages they exchanged as they started getting to know each other were perfect as their relationship developed! You will definitely fall in love with Calder and Rachel!

This novella was part of a sports anthology called Team Player and I have to say for a short quick read this story really packs some punches as with all Meghan Quinn books you get characters that you can relate to and that you will fall in love with because let’s be honest what’s not to love about a hot hockey player who happens to be a single dad and to cap it off he has no worries about going out dressed as Wanda the fairy for his little girl( that was the point my heart skipped a beat and my ovaries went into overdrive).Calder is the perfect father but when he meets Rachel he realises something is missing from his life and maybe he does have room in his heart for love, Rachel is a school teacher and the perfect woman for Calder and his daughter she is kind, caring and extremely funny. For a short read there was no shortness of passion, humour and plenty of hilarious banter.
This is a must read for all Meghan Quinn fans but it’s also a must read introduction book if you have never read this author before.

This book was so incredibly entertaining, with really lovable characters and the witty banter was off the charts funny!!
I literally swooned and sighed at Calder Weiss! Dear God that man made me crumble!!
This is a novella and packs a punch, but I could have read so much more about Calder and Rachel! The whole story was so much fun! It made me giggle, made me love all the characters!! Add Hayden into the mix and good god there’s some incredibly funny stories that will have you laughing when Calder is embarrassed!!
Loved it!!!
I definitely need Hayden’s story asap!

Born in New York and raised in Southern California, Meghan has grown into a sassy, peanut butter eating, blonde haired swearing, animal hoarding lady. She is known to bust out and dance if “It’s Raining Men” starts beating through the air and heaven forbid you get a margarita in her, protect your legs because they may be humped. Once she started commuting for an hour and twenty minutes every day to work for three years, she began to have conversations play in her head, real life, deep male voices and dainty lady coos kind of conversations. Perturbed and confused, she decided to either see a therapist about the hot and steamy voices running through her head or start writing them down. She decided to go with the cheaper option and started writing… enter her first novel, Caught Looking. Now you can find the spicy, most definitely on the border of lunacy, kind of crazy lady residing in Colorado with the love of her life and her five, furry four legged children, hiking a trail or hiding behind shelves at grocery stores, wondering what kind of lube the nervous stranger will bring home to his wife. Oh and she loves a good boob squeeze! Facebook | Follow on Goodreads | Website | Amazon Author Page | Instagram | Follow on BookBub
