Though she and Sebastian had been sharing a suite in California, the fact was, they lived in separate apartments in New York. No matter what she felt for him, London, her job, and her life awaited her. The sooner they got used to being apart the better. “I’m tired,” she said. “I didn’t rest much on the flight, and we have to be up early tomorrow to meet with Ethan.” His grin turned into a frown. “Why do I get the feeling you’re pulling away?” She rubbed her hands over her arms and turned away, not wanting to face him. It was one thing to pull back, another to look him in the eye while doing it. Not when all she really wanted to do was throw herself into his arms. But she lived in reality. So here they were. “Hey.” He grasped her and turned her around. “I have a question for you.” “Okay…” she said warily. “Why are you still here?” “What?” She hadn’t anticipated that question. “Why are you still here, in New York? Although she’d put work out of her mind, she had checked in with her bosses while she was away, assured them she was returning. She’d bought herself another week, that was it. They understood her leave of absence but wanted her back as soon as possible. “I’ll take your silence to be a no,” Sebastian said, releasing her arms. “Which brings me back to why? Do you still want to be here? Or are you avoiding Mr. Perfectly Nice?” She didn’t want to talk about any of this. She still had a week left, and in that time, Ethan would need her once he found out about Mandy’s cheating. Or was that just an excuse? Because she wasn’t ready to leave Sebastian, her conscience asked her. She glared at him. “Why are you pushing me so hard just because I said I was tired?” she asked, more annoyed with herself but taking it out on him. “Because of what we shared in California. Because of what we feel for each other, even if you’re not ready to admit it. And because I want to know.”

Carly Phillips is off to a flying start with this new series, if book one is anything to go by.
Take Me Again is such a heart warming, sad, fun and totally hot second chance at love story. The characters are strong and well written and I was extremely sad when I finished the book.
Sebastian Knight is arrogant, alpha and used to getting what and who he wants without question, that is until he comes up against Ashley Easton for the second time.
Having been sent away from the Knight family, thanks to a tryst with Sebastian, he is shocked when Ashley returns after a family tragedy. Even more shocking, she has kept in touch with his brother Ethan. Sebastian is just as drawn to Ashley as he was when she was 18, however since Sebastian broke her heart, she has absolutely no intention of becoming involved with him again.
Sebastian is a commitment phobe and Ashley has no intention of ever falling in love and opening herself to such pain again. However, the chemistry between them refuses to die and both Sebastian and Ashley are once again drawn to one another. Can Ashley resist the determined Sebastian or is she doomed to have her heart broken again?
I loved Ashley, she is feisty, independent, a woman who knows her own mind and is focused; Sebastian I fell for hard and fast . Take Me Again was at times a bit of an emotional roller coaster, with plenty of steam and hotness to satisfy any Carly Phillips reader.
The characters, in fact the whole family drew me in and kept me riveted till the last page. I am anxious to see where Ms. Phillips takes this series and cannot wait for book 2.

Sebastian’s life is perfect he has everything he wants and he has no room for relationships but when Ashley turns up to support his family as they are grieving the loss of his sister in law he finds himself wanting to make Ashley understand what really happened all those years ago.
Ashley returns to New York to support her best friend and step brother but it’s also the perfect timing for her to get away from a boyfriend in London who wants more than she is prepared or capable of giving.
This series is about the Knight family but this book is about two people with a history both believing love and HEA are not in their future reconnecting as they are thrown together, both have walls that need to be broken down before their hearts can heal. This book has all the feels you want in a great read, it has characters with chemistry and a story that will captivate you so if you are looking for a romance that draws you in that has plenty going on to keep you hooked as well as characters that have plenty of depth this could be your next read. Looking forward to book 2 in this series.
