AN ALL-NEW STANDALONE FROM NEW YORK TIMES BESTSELLING AUTHOR JULIA KENT

I’m not too proud to admit that finding Mr. Right involves swiping right. Right? Welcome to dating in avocado toastland.

Here I am, on my first blind date, ever, courtesy of a smartphone app and my two annoying best friends.

So what is Chris “Fletch” Fletcher doing, walking across the room, looking at his phone like he’s pattern matching a picture to find a real person he’s never met before?

Oh.

Oh, no.

The guy I drop-kicked in seventh grade cannot be my blind date. The guy who earned me this infernal nickname.

That’s right.

Feisty.

More from New York Times bestselling author Julia Kent as Fiona “Feisty” Gaskill gets her chance at love - drop-kick included.

Excerpt

“Fletch,” I start, walking into my office, waving him on. As we pass by the children, they snicker and whisper, the girls more stirred up than the boys. We reach the office, I close the door, and ask, “Why are you here?”

“I came to see you because I knew this was your lunch break and you've been ignoring my texts and calls.”

“Maybe I need some space.”

“I respect that.”

“Clearly, you don't.”

“Look, Fiona, I'm not here to argue with you. Or to crowd you or upset you. The opposite, actually. I realized our wires have been crossed and it was better to just come to you, face to face, and say what needs to be said.”

“You couldn't wait until I wasn't working?”

“If you'd answer my texts and calls, I could.”

“Fair enough. What do you want to say? What needs to be said?”

“I would like to ask you out on a date.”

“A date?”

“Yes.”

“Why?”

“Because I like you.”

“That's it?”

“Isn't that enough?”

“After seventeen years of teasing me, of that stupid nickname following me around like a poltergeist, now you suddenly decide that because I saved your nephew you want to date me?”

“It's not like that.”

“Then what is it like?”

“I don't know. Let me find out what it's like by spending time with you. Let's both find out what the other is really like. Do we have to define this? Let's explore it.” He grins. “Let's explore each other.”

“I think you're trauma bonding with me and getting that confused with having feelings for me.”

“Trauma bonding?”

“We went through something emotionally intense together. You helped me. I saved your nephew. But that doesn't mean we should date.”

“That's not why I'm asking you out.”

“Is it because we kissed?”

“That's not why, but it certainly adds to all the reasons why.”

When a book hooks you from the start you just know its going to be great and so didn’t disappoint at all! It was very unique and definitely my kind of story!
Feisty is so wonderfully feisty and the story was rather entertaining and real fun!Fiona aka Feisty is just that and then some! She is sassy, fierce, smart and just the whole package! As a child care educator, her ability to protect those children under her is nothing of exemplary! She goes above and beyond and yes the start is heart stopping but draws you into the book!
Ms Kent has woven her magic fingers and written an oscar worthy book! I just loved the banter and Fiona’s friends and everyone close to her! She has known Chris aka Fletch since forever and all of a sudden, after an experience that shows her life is short, she sees him in a new way!
I absolutely love love loved this book so much! I laughed so much, I even shed some tears and thought this was the most amazing book and a brilliant addition to this fantastic series!

You know a book is special when you are hooked from the very first page and Feisty does exactly that, I was drawn in and captivated by Fiona “Feisty” Gaskill and Chris “Fletch” Fletcher’s story. This book was everything I expected and so much more, this author certainly knows how to write a great RomCom and if you are looking for a book with all the feels look no further than Feisty... Fletch and Feisty have known each other since they where kids and that’s when he gave her the nickname she has hated ever since but this nickname suits our heroine so well, she is sassy, she is strong and so smart and the witty banter she shares with her friends and Fletch had me laughing out loud. Time has moved on and this couple really deserve a second chance at love, will the timing be right this time around..... A beautifully written love story with some entertaining hilarious moments. Julia Kent knows what her fans love and she always delivers, she gives us characters we can connect with and as her stories unfold it’s easy to feel like you are catching up with friends as you laugh at the witty banter this group share but she is also fantastic at giving us those heart stopping moments where we find ourself holding our breath and hoping that the HEA is going to happen. I loved everything about this book and I can’t wait to see what we get next from this very talented author.

This is Fiona “Feisty” Gaskill and Chris “Fletch” Fletcher story and it was everything that I hoped it would be and so much more. Julia Kent is one of my go to authors for RomCom books. There is something about her style of writing that draws me in and I cannot put her books down. Julia Kent never fails to deliver; whenever I see her name I know that I am in for a fabulous read. As with previous books I have read I was in stitches having laughed so much I cried. That’s right, not only laughing but snort laughing, totally unattractive I assure you and the looks I got from my fellow commuters just made me laugh even harder.   Ms. Kent writes stories with characters who are human, engaging and realistic and you cannot help but be drawn in to the story she weaves.   However, there are also some serious moments within the pages, ones that had my heart in my mouth at times. It leads to Feisty re evaluating her life with the help of her friends Perky and Mallory and looking deep into her heart, implementing some changes. One of the questions that Feisty needs to ask herself is whether she can forgive Fletch for the past and see the man that he has become. I love the friendship between the women, it is a true sisterhood which adds an additional layer to this story. I also love how caring and protective Fletch is of Feisty. These two deserve to get their happily ever after and I cheered for them throughout. A second chance at love story about taking a leap of faith; it was a story I didn’t want to end.

Author Bio

New York Times and USA Today bestselling author Julia Kent writes romantic comedy with an edge. Since 2013, she has sold more than 2 million books, with 4 New York Times bestsellers and more than 19 appearances on the USA Today bestseller list. Her books have been translated into French and German, with more titles releasing in 2019.

From billionaires to BBWs to new adult rock stars, Julia finds a sensual, goofy joy in every contemporary romance she writes. Unlike Shannon from Shopping for a Billionaire, she did not meet her husband after dropping her phone in a men's room toilet (and he isn't a billionaire she met in a romantic comedy).

She lives in New England with her husband and three children where she is the only person in the household with the gene required to change empty toilet paper rolls.
