I love everything about The Harrington Family but if I’m honest when I first picked this book up Billy Harrington wasn’t a man I liked but as I turned the pages I got to know the man behind the walls and I found myself falling for him.....
Billy’s life is about to turn upside down when he finds out he has a teenage daughter, it’s a shock especially when she strolls into his bar and calls him dad. Sadie has just lost her mum and has just moved into town to live with her aunt. Roxanne will do whatever is needed to keep Sadie with her the last thing she wants is Billy taking her away but Billy and Roxanne hate each other, they seem to butt heads over everything so how can they agree on giving Sadie what’s best for her, can they put their differences aside and become the family Sadie desperately wants .....
One of the great things about this story was getting to know Billy and Roxanne, getting to see the real people prepared to do what is needed for Sadie, this is an emotional read but it also heartwarming with the perfect mix of love, passion and humour, it captivated me and I found myself wanting more.
I love my times with this family and I can’t wait to see where this very talented author takes us next.
The Harrington’s of Blue Ridge are a fascinating family. I freely admit that going in I wasn’t too keen on William “Billy” Harrington, in fact I wasn’t sure I was going to like him at all, unlike his brother Giant Harrington.
After his divorce, Billy went off the rails, having dozens of one night stands and meaningless flings. It seems that is all about to catch up with him.
Suddenly finding out that he is a father to teenage Sadie is a shock he never saw coming; Roxanne is his enemy and to complicate matters even further, his daughter’s aunt. It also doesn’t help that attraction lied beneath the surface of the antagonistic relationship between Billy and Roxanne.
It was enjoyable to read as Billy and Roxanne come to terms with what life has thrown them. This is a steamy book which was also emotional and heartwarming. Although I was frustrated at times by both Billy and Roxanne and wanted to smack sense into both of them.
L B Dunbar turned my initial feelings for Billy around and I soon came to see that there was so much more to him.
Can Billy, Roxanne and Sadie become the family that they all so desperately need and deserve?
