Review Blitz: Things We Never Got Over by Lucy Score

Title: Things We Never Got Over
Author: Lucy Score
Genre: Romance
Release Date: January 13, 2022

Knox is a badass, bar-owning barber who prefers to live his life the way he takes his coffee: Alone. Well, except for his basset hound, Waylon. He doesn’t tolerate drama (Knox, not Waylon. Waylon loves drama.). Especially not when it comes in the form of a stranded runaway bride.

Naomi answered her estranged--some would say evil--twin’s call for help, arriving in rural and rough-around-the-edges Knockemout, Virginia, ready to be the good sister as usual.

Too bad her evil twin hasn’t changed at all. After helping herself to Naomi’s car and cash, Tina leaves her with something unexpected. The 11-year-old niece Naomi didn’t know she had. Dun dun dunnnn!

There are reasons why Knox doesn’t do family drama or high-maintenance women who actually believe in all the bullshit trappings of romance. But since her life imploded right in front of him, the least he can do is help Naomi out of her jam. Even if the uptight good girl is a gigantic pain in his ass. As soon as she stops getting herself into new trouble, he can stop dragging her into his bed and go back to his peaceful, solitary life.

At least, that’s the plan until the trouble turns to real danger.

Things We Never Got Over is one long book that sends the reader on a roller coaster of a journey where you fall in love with the characters and want to find the small town of Knockemout for the entertainment factor alone!

Naomi is a runaway bride, in the town to help her twin sister. What she doesn’t expect is the town’s reaction, especially a certain grumpy man named Knox. Dear lord the snark in this book is extraordinarily fun and the steamy moments are off the charts hot!

She also is rather shocked that her sister has a kid and she is now her guardian.

This story was absolutely riveting, highly entertaining and had characters that you either wanted to hug or give them a slap. The angst had me on the edge of my seat and I truly hope we get books about other characters in this outstanding story.

Naomi’s bff Stef is an absolute hoot and added an extra something to the story!

Highly recommend you grab this book and prepare to hold on for a wild ride!

This is my first book by Lucy Score, every word was sensational I just didn't want to put it down!
A runaway bride, an extremely likeable grumpy Viking size guy, an eleven-year-old with a “mouth” plus such a wonderful family, what more did I want!
An extremely feisty heroine, her life  now is a disaster.  Her niece is wonderful, full of promise it’s a pleasure to see how she grows.
So many hilarious parts added with parts that make you hold your breath and make you smile.
All the characters are extremely solid, they all play a wonderful part. A riveting read that made me feel the joys of happiness, I won’t forget the hotness and  steam factor! I can highly recommend this awesome book. Naomi and Knox are written magnificently.

Things We Not Never Got Over is the first book that I've ready by Lucy Score and wow, what a journey it was!

This book was just what I needed to read to raise my spirits and bring some much needed joy back. Knox and Naomi (aka Daisy) had me laughing out loud more often than not.

Liza J, Stef, Waylay, Sloane, Fi and all the other sub characters really made this book even more entertaining. The banter between the characters was hysterical especially those who worked at Honky Tonk. There was so much I loved about this book and would definitely recommend it to everyone who is in desperate need for an awesome romantic comedy.

The only thing that I would say is you'll need to settle in for quite awhile to finish this book. It's definitely not a quick read!
