Edge of Steel is book 2 in this incredible shifter series by Elizabeth Dear and one definitely not to be missed.

Book 1, must be read before reading this book to understand what is going on and why four powerful prime shifters are grovelling and practically begging for forgiveness. 

Avery continues to be an incredible heroine who stands her ground and knows her worth. I love her character! She is fierce, just as much as her beast, and even though she has four Fated mates desperate for her affection, it’s hard to forget what they did to her. 

Heath, Aiden, Elijah and Wyatt are all desperate to be with Avery after discovering they are Fated. They have the summer to earn her trust and love back and will stop at nothing to get it. They also find themselves protecting her from other quads who are also vying for her attention and the possibility to bond with her. We learn even more about each member of the quad, especially the mysterious Elijah and his basilisk. I love how affectionate he is but also how he’s such a fierce protector. 

I love the side story of investigating the death of Avery’s mother as well as Elijah’s family. This was the perfect addition to the book and I love how it tied into something greater. 

Even though this ended on a cliffhanger, it wasn’t as massive of one as the first book. It definitely leaves you begging to find out what happens next and I, for one, will wait in great anticipation for the third book!

 Clash of Claws is the first book I've read by Elizabeth Dear and holy cow! This was phenomenal! 

If you're a fan of paranormal, why choose romance set in a college/academy setting, then this book is for you! 

This book reminded of Supernatural Academy and Zodiac Academy but better! 

I loved the heroine, Avery Baxter, who is a female shifter out to prove herself in the cut throat Guardian training program that has NEVER accepted a female before. She's feisty and can hold her own against even the toughest of male shifters. 

The heroes are all Prime/alpha shifters of various animals who when they see Avery for the first time are entranced by her. They're on the hunt for their central in their quad but know that it can't be a female shifter. 

The story is filled with action scenes and plenty of hilarious banter that had me turning the pages well into the night. I could not get enough of this book! 

The characters fight their attraction for one another all the way through the book, which can be frustrating at certain points but keeps the sexual tension ripe!

I honestly cannot praise this book enough and NEED book 2 NOW!!
