Grey backed her up against the rack on the left wall and gripped the edge of the shelf near the sides of her head. He leaned in, and his hard chest brushed against the sensitive tips of her breasts. He pressed a kiss near her ear. “I’m not playing with you.” Desire shallowed her breathing as she reached for the tucked edges of the towel. “No games here.” The doorbell rang, and the front door lock disengaged. Her hands froze, and Grey’s head snapped up. The security system chimed with the opening of the door. “Cori,” her mother called out. “It’s me.” Panic blazed through Cori. In a matter of seconds, her mom would walk into the kitchen and see… She glanced down at Grey’s erection jutting out from the towel. Shit! Pushing past him, she whispered, “Stay here.” “Wait—” Cori rushed out, just closing the door behind her when Adina Ross came down the hallway. “There you are.” Her petite mom, neat and comfortable looking in beige capri pants, a loose navy shirt, and matching flats, stuffed her keys in a navy shoulder bag as she walked into the kitchen. “Sorry for barging in and not waiting for you to answer the door, but I made the mistake of asking your favorite neighbor how she was doing.” Her mom’s light brown face was free of makeup. Soft creases formed at the corners of her eyes as she chuckled and gave Cori a brief hug. “That woman talked for ten minutes straight about her root canal. She was about to go into the neighborhood drama report before I finally got away from her.” “But it’s Saturday. Don’t you have a standing hair appointment this afternoon?” Her mom smoothed a hand over her ebony hair that was pulled back into a ponytail. “I’m on my way there, but I needed to talk to you first. What were you so busy doing that you couldn’t call me back?” “I ran into a friend I hadn’t seen in a while. We were out late catching up.” “And this morning?” Images from earlier flashed in Cori’s mind of her and Grey on the couch…and of him standing in her pantry closet wearing nothing but a towel and a hard-on. Well, he probably didn’t have the hard-on anymore.

Rules of a Rebound by Nina Crespo Blog Tour & Review

Today we have the blog tour of RULES OF A REBOUND by Nina Crespo! Check it out and be sure to grab your copy today!

Title: RULES OF A REBOUND

Author: Nina Crespo

Genre: Contemporary Romance

About Rules of A Rebound:

Natalie Winters thought she’d married the man of her dreams…but her marriage ended way too soon in a nightmarish divorce. She even has to share custody of the dog! The stress is killing her, so she decides to take a night off and attend the Breakup Bash—a private party for women celebrating their breakups—with her friends. Former executive security specialist turned bartender Rome Collier is drawn to the woman easily trading sexy banter with him. And if she wants the “Do Me” condoms she accidentally throws across the counter at him, she’ll have to claim them…personally. Their flirtation turns into so much more, and every scintillating night they spend together is better than the last. Strong, protective...and hot, Rome is everything Natalie ever wanted in a man. All she has to do is convince him he’s more than a rebound.

Nina Crespo is a relatively new author to me. Rules Of A Rebound is not a particularly long book but Ms. Crespo certainly kept me entertained. This is Natalie Winters and Rome Collier’s story and what a great story it was. Natalie is left reeling after a nasty divorce however it hasn’t stopped her from being feisty and determined to move on with her life. Rome is the bartender that lends an ear and a shoulder. The chemistry between Natalie and Rome off the charts. Rome wants to protect Natalie and he truly is swoon worthy and although it was just supposed to be a hook up the relationship morphs in to so much more for both of them. I enjoyed the writing which was strong with characters that were easy to relate to and their story was one I quickly became invested in. I received a copy of this book through the publisher via Netgalley.

Exclusive Excerpt:

Breathe, Collier, just breathe… He forced himself to take in a steady stream of air through his nose then slowly released it from his mouth. If he focused hard enough on his breathing, his mind would absorb the pain. A few breaths later, sweat formed on his spine, and once again, he was white-knuckling the back counter. Fuck. The damn pills weren’t kicking in fast enough. He needed a distraction.   “Excuse me, bartender.” The woman’s sultry voice coming from behind Rome teased him from the brink of hell. “I’ll take an orgasm.”   He’d filled countless orders for sex on the beaches, blow jobs, and wet pussies, but overly coy deliveries or too much effort had ruined the effect. From her naturally sensual tone, this woman had confidence lying on its back begging to please her.   He glanced over his shoulder.   Auburn highlights shown in the woman’s shoulder-length black hair. Long lashes accented her brown eyes, and her full berry-colored lips were beyond tempting. A thin-strapped, red tank top complemented flawless brown skin.   Fuck confidence lying on its back. He’d gladly lay under one of her sexy stilettos for a closer look at her long shapely legs and equally enticing curves. At least, that’s what he envisioned the counter hid from his view.   Logan glanced over as if he was planning to take her order, prompting Rome to ignore the pain and walk to her at the counter. “Sure you don’t want champagne instead? It’s on the house.”   “No.” She tapped one of her red manicured nails against the Naughty Nine menu. “I’m definitely interested in a number five.” Her gaze met his. “I haven’t had a really good orgasm in years.”   Too bad she was only talking about the drink. Or was she? “So, it’s been hard to find someone to deliver what’s on the menu?”   “Yes. My ex-husband definitely failed that test.” For a moment, a flash of sadness intermingled with the spark of mischief in her eyes.   Her ex was clearly a dumb bastard or a fool. A woman as sexy as this one deserved at least one orgasm every damn day of the week. As he envisioned slipping the straps from her shoulders, revealing her voluptuous breasts and more of her silky-smooth skin, his groin tightened. If she was in his arms, he’d explore every inch of her on the way to delivering what she’d been unfairly denied.   Rome rested his hands on the bar and leaned in. Her perfume, feminine and sensual, lured him closer. “Are you sure you’re only in the mood for one?” “I’d love more than one, but I don’t want to come off as…” Her long lashes raised as she looked up and gave him a ghost of a smile. “Greedy.”   As the last word purred from her lips, goosebumps raised on his arms. He welcomed the challenge of satisfying this beautiful woman.   Rome reached for a cocktail shaker and paused. Pouring liqueurs over ice and shaking it up was the half-ass way of doing it. She’d asked for a really good orgasm, and he’d give her one.

Alexa: I can’t believe I’m at a Breakup Bash, a party for women who have been dumped. I’m not that desperate. Then the music starts, and the sexiest man on earth is on stage. Maybe I am desperate…   ***   Screams of excitement and applause yanked her from the brink of an orgasm.   The music faded. His chest heaved as if he’d run a race.   Her heart echoed in her ears. She moved to sit up, and her shin bumped his prominent erection.   He gritted his teeth with a sucked in breath. “Don’t. Move.” He nodded to someone backstage. As soon as the gold curtain dropped, Raphael eased off her. He hitched up his jeans, but it was obvious that he couldn’t zip past the bulge in his briefs.   She gripped his outstretched hand and scooted to the floor.   His gaze lingered on her mouth. He leaned in.   Desire pooled inside of her, and her legs wobbled. Months ago, she’d beaten herself up over the kiss they’d shared. Back then, he’d pressed his lips to hers and left her wondering about how he’d taste. What it would feel like to drift her tongue over his. Now she could find out.   Raphael halted millimeters away, then shook his head as if in answer to a silent question. He took off his cowboy hat and dropped it on her head. “One of the guys will show you back to your seat.” He spun on his heels and left.   Huh? No kiss? That’s not how this was supposed to end. “Wait!”   The blond-haired Hunk stood in front of her.   She ignored the gentlemanly offer of his arm and pushed past him.   A dozen or more of the Hot Body Hunks in various stages of undress rushed around behind the curtain and down the corridor to the left.   Raphael stalked down the one ahead of her.   She went after him, her heels clicking rapidly on the white tiles.   He glanced back. “This is a private area.”   “You forgot something.”   “Keep the damn hat.” He stopped at the end of the hallway and stabbed a code into a keypad next to a green metal door.   “That’s not why I’m here. I want that kiss you promised me.”   “Promised?” He released a harsh chuckle and yanked the door open. “Fairy tale’s over. This is reality. Any kiss I give you now, princess, ends with you only wearing the hat.”   Fairy tale and reality? Those two fickle bitches could kick rocks. She’d been left at the altar. Now, she’d been abandoned on a fake hay bale. She’d had it with guys not following through. Raphael revved her up.   He damn well needed to finish what he had started. “My name’s Alexa, not princess, and I know what I want.” Alexa marched up to him and wound her arms around his neck. “For you to stop making excuses and ….”

Alexa raised a mojito in a toast. “Love sucks.” Nat sat next to her at the square, white linen-covered table. She lifted a glass of chardonnay. “I’ll co-sign on that.” “Me too.” Cori, also with them, slurped a frozen drink. Laughter and conversation echoed in the semi-darkened private room at Club Escapade. The Breakup Bash—a party to help women get over one man and move on to a better one—was in full swing. Women mingled around the corner bar and danced to Beyoncé’s latest hit in front of the DJ booth next to a gold-curtained stage. The Hot Body Hunks male revue show was scheduled to perform a little later in the evening. Alexa struggled to match the upbeat atmosphere. Who would’ve guessed the three of them would end up sharing the same bad luck with relationships? Nat had gone through a nasty divorce. Cori no longer lived with her boyfriend. But she was the dumbest one of them all. On her wedding day, her main concern had been making sure she had something old, new, borrowed, and blue. Meanwhile, some woman named Karma Sunflower had permanently borrowed Brad. A couple of months before the wedding, when he’d developed an interest in health and started shopping at the organic market, she’d viewed it as a positive. She’d even cut back on French fries, given up sugar, and eaten tofu in solidarity with him. But all along, he’d been playing her for a fool. She should have grown more suspicious when boxes of his so-called favorite granola cereal disappeared in a couple of days instead of weeks. No one needed that much fiber, including full-of-shit Brad. Alexa sank back into the black padded chair. The brilliant solitaire on her finger had kept her enthralled with the promise of a perfect future. What a joke. “Maybe coming here wasn’t such a good idea. This is one of the last places that I hung out as a delusional bride-to-be.” “No.” Cori plunked down her glass, and a slice of pineapple fell off the rim. “This party is just what we need. Maybe some Hasta la Vista cocktails will put us into the mood. Or maybe champagne. Ooh, that sounds even better. I’ll get some.” She sprang from her seat. Purple and green strobe lights reflected in her neon-blue hair. The narrow skirt of her short yellow minidress, and blue death-defying, high-heeled pumps, shortened her steps. Nat flipped her hair then straightened the shoulder strap of her burgundy top. Her gold-and-silver earrings reflected the lights. “Good thing we took a Lyft and didn’t count on Cori being our designated driver. She’s really celebrating tonight.” “She’s supposed to help me pack tomorrow. Too many hasta la vistas and I’ll have to count her out.” “Staying distracted is her way of handling things. At least she’s not depressed anymore. We all needed this.” Sadness flashed in Nat’s eyes. Alexa felt her pain and then some. Maybe consuming multiple hasta la vistas was the right idea. Alcohol might help her forget her humiliation, too. Nat brought a plate of cubed cheese and crackers closer to them. “Are you sure about this moving thing? Seattle is a big step.” “I’m embracing new horizons.” Nat munched on a cracker. “New horizons are about running toward what you do want, not running away from what you don’t. You’ve never talked about leaving before.” “I’m not running. I need a change of pace, and this job offer is too good to pass up. NorthStar only transports freight in the northeast. Vannett Incorporated operates nationally. As the head of carrier relations for them, I’ll have more responsibility and a bigger paycheck.” “And you won’t have to deal with Brad and his hippy-dippy side piece when they show up six weeks from now.” “That’s an added bonus.” Seeing her ex anytime soon was the last thing she wanted to do. As far as meeting Karma face-to-face, she’d imagined everything from slapping her to forcing her to eat a pound of sugar. Non-organic, of course. But most of her anger was at Brad. He’d not only betrayed her as a fiancé, but also as a friend. {…} Nat nudging her arm pulled Alexa from the past. “Hopefully all this change includes a new man.” She brushed crumbs from the lap of her skinny jeans. “You’re twenty-seven, hot as hell, and single. Don’t let opportunity pass you by. Indulge.” Dating. Not this topic again. “I’m here with you guys to see the Hot Body Hunks. Doesn’t that count?” The poster she’d spotted near the entrance featured a photo of twelve shirtless, muscular guys wearing jeans. Unfortunately, Raphael the Dream Maker wasn’t among them. Seeing him again might have lifted her spirits. “Love those earrings. Are they new?” “You know they’re not. You bought them, and you’re wearing the same pair. Stop trying to change the subject.” Alexa fiddled with one of her silver and gold earrings. “I’m not interested in falling in love again.” “Who said anything about love? This is about leaving a total dick for more satisfying cock and less worries. It’s about getting rid of jackasses who aren’t worth a damn and most important of all...” Nat held up her wineglass. “Freedom!” The women around them whooped and applauded. Alexa pulled down Nat’s arm. “Will you stop.” “No. You stop. It’s perfectly okay to ride a man into a better future. Preferably in the midst of an orgasm. That’s what this celebration is all about, and you need to get on board.” Nat plucked a condom, with Do Me printed on the red packaging, from the floral centerpiece. “That’s why it’s called the Breakup Bash.” **Who is Raphael and just how hot do things get between him and Alexa? Read and exclusive excerpt from FORGET YOU:
What he was about to do seemed crazy. He just needed to hear Sophie say nothing sexual had ever happened between them. Then he could chalk up those images as pure fantasy.
He pulled into a space, threw the gear in park, and got out. Sophie’s shocked expression alone would whip him down to size. Guilt over dreaming of her naked would replace his attraction to her. That’s exactly what he needed. A heaping pile of remorse.
Signs with numbers and arrows led him through the maze of duplexes in the courtyard. In the past, he’d followed her from work after a long night to make sure she’d made it safely home, but he’d never actually gone to her apartment before. King located the right door and rapped on it. Not that he had a good reason now.
A porch light flickered on above him. He heard movement inside. What if Sophie’s roommate answered? He’d forgotten about her. Shit. What was his excuse? A lost phone number. Problems accessing the presentation from his computer.
Sophie opened the door. Devoid of makeup, hair swept back into a ponytail, and dressed in a faded green tee and jean shorts, she radiated uncomplicated beauty. “King? What are you doing here?”
He barely squashed the need to take her in his arms and went inside. “We have to talk. Is your roommate here?”
“No. Robin’s at work.” She closed the door. “Why? What’s going on?”
“When were we together?”
“Yesterday. Don’t you remember?” The genuine concern in her expression made him feel like a cross between a jerk for thinking of her sexually and a man struggling to prove his sanity.
“No. I mean yes.” He raked his hair and pulled so hard his scalp stung. “When did we sleep together?” Shock. Laughter. An emphatic denial. He braced for them.
Sophie paled. She shrugged and brushed her bangs from her forehead. Her tell. She planned to deny what happened.
No way in hell was she getting away with that. “How long ago was it? Weeks? Days? Why didn’t you tell me?”

Nina Crespo is a new author to me. The premise of the story drew me in and it was a good read although to me it was more drama and angst that comedy which was what I was expecting.
Honestly, I wasn’t too keen on King to begin with but he did slowly grow on me; he was a typically arrogant, at times egotistical businessmen, who felt he was entitled. Sophie I liked, although I was extremely frustrated by her acceptance of the treatment given to her by King, I mean enough is enough.
The chemistry between Sophie and King is off the charts, even though he has suffered a traumatic brain injury and does not remember sleeping with his assistant Sophie prior to the accident.
In my opinion there was room for further development of the characters and the story line whilst good, felt as though I was missing something. Having said that I will certainly read more from Nina Crespo as I enjoyed her style of writing.

Nina Crespo is a new author to me and Forget You is book 1 in her new The Kingman Brothers Series.
Sophie has had a crush on her boss King for as long as she can remember but he has never looked at her in a romantic way until a night she steps in as his date at a charity event, after a night of passion things go horribly wrong and Sophie ends up giving two weeks notice. King is involved in an accident and can’t remember the past month or so .........
Too be honest it took me a while to warm up to King, I loved Sophie from the start but by the end of this book I was rooting for a HEA for this couple. This is a fast paced story that flows, it’s full of misunderstandings between Sophie and King and for me that made it realistic because let’s be honest life isn’t all smooth sailing. Looking forward to book 2 in the series
