Let Love In by Melissa Collins
What would happen if you lost everything? If the people who were supposed to love you unconditionally were no longer there for you, how would your world change?
Madeleine Becker lost everything when her parents died when she was ten years old. Ripped from her home and everything that she has ever loved, she is forced to start all over again. The only way for her to move on is to build walls around her heart and keep everyone at a safe distance. Her logic: she can't get hurt if she doesn't fall in love.
That theory is blown to pieces when she meets Reid Connely during her freshman year at college. He is gorgeous and darkly mysterious. He understands Maddy's pain all too well, but sharing his pain would mean breaking down the walls he put up around his own heart. Conflicted between loving Maddy and hiding his dark past, Reid starts to reevaluate his world. Maddy's inner strength, snarky personality and breath taking beauty help Reid to make peace with his past.
Together they find out what happens when they let love in.
My review:
5 stars
When I first started reading this book and noticed that the parents where dead I got a feeling that I read that somewhere before and was seriously hoping that it wasn't going to be like that book.
I was surprised, a good surprised. Maddy grew up without her parents. She lived with an older aunt. She didn't have any brothers or sisters. When she moved to her new school she became friends with Melanie. Actually they became sisters.
Maddy and Melanie go off to college and there Maddy meets Reid. Reid, Reid, Reid....he was an ass when he met her, couldn't stand any other guys talking or touching her. Dude make up your mind. Do you want to be with her or not!! I guess with his background I would be hesitant on having a relationship as well.
See Maddy and Reid they both formed walls and no one has been able to break them. Well except Reid broke Maddy's and Maddy broke Reid's.
There is some hot steamy sex scenes where were off the chart. I enjoyed this book. I didn't feel like I was being hurried to get to the point of the story. I mean I wanted to read in a hurry to see what happened. But I didn't want the story to end.
I had to hold in the tears toward the end of the book. I was screaming in my head NO,NO,NO,NO,NO,NO!! this can't be happening. OMG I didn't see that happening!!! I surely can't wait for the next book to come out so I can see how Reid and Maddy's story continues, or even if it does continue.
You have to read this book. I don't want to give to much away with out spoiling it. I couldn't put this book down. When I finished I yelled NNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!
Thank you Melissa now I am at the edge of my seat waiting for more.
