Blog Tour, Review & Giveaway: Elicit by Rachel Van Dyken

SYNOPSIS:

Cursed, numb, rejected, scorned, wicked, sinister, dark, twisted...my name is Tex
Campisi and this is my legacy. I killed my father in cold blood and lost my soul right
along with him.
I crave war more than peace, and I'm about to take my place in history as the youngest
Capo dei Capi in the Cosa Nostra...that is until someone stops me, saves me from
myself.
But the only person able to do that...is my best friends sister, Mo Abandanato, and
she just ripped my heart out and asked me to hold it in my hands while she put bullets
through it.
Im cursed so I did it.
I'm numb so I held it.
I'm wicked so I liked it.
I used the pain Mo caused as a catalyst to turn into my biggest nightmare--the five
families greatest enemy. It's my turn to take a stand, knowing full well I'm going to lose
my mind to the madness that is the American Mafia. I've always been told Blood is
thicker than life. I wish I would have listened. Because regardless of who you love? You
will betray. You will kill.
Blood Always Wins.
The only way out is death...yours.
Welcome to the Dark Side of the Family

Excerpt
“What?” I asked wincing as the pain was starting to travel up my leg.
“Not here.” She sighed. “We need to go to your room I need you to lie down.”
Chase chuckled. “If I had a dollar—”
“What?” Mil gave him an I–will-kill-you expression. “Really, I’m dying to know.”
“Then...” Chase looked at me helplessly. “I’d only have a dollar?”
“Good answer.”
“Shit,” he mumbled under his breath.
“Come on.” Mil stood. “We’ll help you guys take Tex to his room.”
“I’m fine.” I grumbled standing again only to fall back in my chair.
“Aw, he’s like a baby giraffe.” Chase clapped. “All wobbly like.”
“Can I at least be a baby tiger?” I pleaded. “My pride and all that.”
“Baby tigers are so cute.” Mil grinned.
“Just kidding. I want to be a baby tarantula.”
“Too late.” Mil sighed happily. “Baby tiger it is.”
Mo hid a smile behind her hand before grabbing the kit. Chase moved to the side of the chair
and helped me to my feet. “Try not to like my touch too much, man. Remember I’m married.”
“I’ll try to keep my penis at bay.” I said dryly.
“That’s really all I ask.” Chase grunted as he helped me walk down the hall. “Well that and
keeping it in your pants.”
“I can’t even walk, I won’t rape you, dude.”
“One can never be too cautious,” Chase sang.
Once we were in my room, Chase dropped me onto the bed. It squeaked under my weight.

I cannot begin to describe my emotions on reading Elicit, the 3rd book in The Eagle Elite series. Rachel has certainly outdone herself writing this book.
Elicit is Tex and Mo’s story.  And what a story it is!!!! Mo, or Monroe, is Nixon’s sister. Tex is Nixon and Chase’s friend.
There are twists and turns and something that will shock you as it did me!!
I really felt for Mo, but the way she fought for what she wanted and essentially got caught in the crossfire regardless…well I really admired her.
The whole gang, Nixon & Trace, Chase & Mil…are a part of something so big!!! Trace’s grandpa Frank, the various head honcho’s of the mafia families all come together to sort out ‘Family’ business.
I laughed, I shed tears…it’s almost like you are a part of the story, in a sense, that’s the feeling I had while reading!!! The intense moments Tex and Mo had to steal, all while Tex put on his OTHER persona, you will realise what I am talking about when you read it.
I loved the moments and the way all the girls banded together, they are really very tough women, in my opinion.
Drama, suspense, touching moments, bloodshed , all make this an incredible addition to an amazing  series.
I really don’t want to give anything away, you just have to read this series for yourself if you haven’t already.
I look forward to reading more!!! Awesome work as ever Rachel!!
