Armed with two years' worth of savings and the need to experience life outside the bubble of her Oregon small town, twenty-five-year old Amber Welles is prepared for anything. Except dying in Dublin. Had it not been for the bravery of a stranger, she might have. But he takes off before she has the chance to offer her gratitude.
Twenty-four-year-old River Delaney is rattled. No one was supposed to get hurt. But then that American tourist showed up. He couldn't let her die, but he also couldn't risk being identified at the scene—so, he ran. Back to his everyday life of running his family’s pub. Only, everyday life is getting more and more complicated, thanks to his brother, Aengus, and his criminal associations. When the American girl tracks River down, he quickly realizes how much he likes her, how wrong she is for him. And how dangerous it is to have her around. Chasing her off would be the smart move.
Maybe it's because he saved her life, or maybe it's because he's completely different from everything she's left behind, but Amber finds herself chasing after River Delaney. Amber isn’t the kind of girl to chase after anyone.
And River isn't the kind of guy she'd want to catch.

This is the first book in this series I have read and what a wonderful story it is!!! I was hooked from start to finish and read it in record time for me!!
This story is set in Ireland and at one point I found myself trying to think in an Irish accent when some of the characters were conversing, bizarre??!! Yes I think so too!
Very descriptive as well as easy and enjoyable to read! I love the Irish terms and places, makes me want to visit! Although some words, I actually had to look up online!! Learning some Irish history was also very interesting too.
I love American Amber Welles, her shyness, travelling the world for a few months and having fun, seeing some different sights, sounds like a great idea to me!
When a man rescues her from an incident as soon as she arrives in Dublin, she is wanting to find him just to say Thank You! Kind of like a needle in a haystack…how will she find him?
What eventuates is a love story that will have you intrigued, it’s a little bit different, kind of in a two people from the wrong side of the tracks way.
I loved River Delaney!!! His storytelling, his recommendations for touristy things to do, his family, his bond with his younger brother, his caring side and his swoonworthy all around Irish charm. But with an older brother that was big ‘trouble’, needless to say things don’t always work out well. Rivers conflicting problems, his past and the way he was really trying hard to do good.
I loved the way Amber and River were when they were together, loved the way the story went, their ups and downs, there was a time when I thought…Oh no…but then…ahhh…Nope not giving anything away now….
A truly wonderful story with an ending that made me want more. I hope we can read more from them in the future.Paperback ARC provided by Simon and Shuster AU for an honest review.

Born in small-town Ontario, K.A. published her first book at the age of six with the help of her elementary school librarian and a box of crayons.
She has come a long way from working in crayon. All four books (ANATHEMA, ASYLUM, ALLEGIANCE and ANOMALY) in her best selling YA Paranormal Fantasy series - Causal Enchantment- are available now.
Her USA Today best selling New Adult Contemporary, TEN TINY BREATHS--originally self-published--was acquired by Atria Books (a division of Simon & Schuster), and is available now, along with subsequent books in the series: IN HER WAKE, ONE TINY LIE, FOUR SECONDS TO LOSE, and FIVE WAYS TO FALL. Also out from Atria Books is her Romantic Suspense series: BURYING WATER and BECOMING RAIN are available now. CHASING RIVER will be out in July, 2015.
K.A. is a voracious reader and currently resides in a quaint town outside of Toronto with her husband, two beautiful girls, and an exhausting brood of four-legged creatures.
