I couldn’t sleep. I meant to go to the kitchen and then I ended up here because I wanted . . .” His reaction cuts like his anger. “Just never mind.” I try to move around him but his hands press to the wall beside me, caging me, and now I’m angry. “Are we doing this again? Don’t bully me. My stupid flashbacks are doing a fine job of that on their own. I said I’m sorry. Just let me go back to my room.”
“You wanted what?”
“I wanted you to do what you swore you could,” I blurt, having nothing to lose when everything is already gone.
“Only I don’t want you to fuck me until I can’t remember my name. I want you to fuck me until I stop thinking about that man and the gun. Because you were right. Memories are the enemies that never die. But I know you don’t want—”
His hand slides under my hair and he drags me to him, my hand flattening on the hard wall of his chest. “I do want. So fucking bad it’s killing me.”
My palm is directly over his heart, and I can feel it racing, the air around us crackling with barely contained passion. “I don’t need a hero to save my virtue tonight. I need you. So please. Fuck me and then fuck with my head so no one else can. Let me choose my own sins.”

I was given this book for an honest review
Lisa Renee Jones is the queen of mystery and intrigue and for me this is one of her best books.
Denial is book 1 in the Careless Whispers Series and it's all about Ella Ferguson and her disappearance.
Imagine waking up not knowing who you are or where you came from added to this there is a kind stranger who is willing to help you but he is oddly familiar .......
Kayden wants to protect and help Ella remember but does he have a ulterior motive....
There is an instant attraction between Ella and Kayden but will he let her in and will she remember why he is familiar.
There are twists and turns throughout this story and once you add the very hot sex scenes you get a book you cant put down but a warning if you don't like cliffhangers maybe this is not for you.
I loved this book and I hope we don't have to wait to long for book 2 in this series.

Is there a way to give a book more than 5 stars?
A young woman wakes up in the hospital with no memory of who she is and very little memory of why she is there. Sitting at her bedside is one very smoking hot alpha - Kayden. The story of how this woman gets to the hospital has the police in Italy intrigued. She is an American citizen with no identification and no missing person report filed. Once the police find out who is at her bedside, it seems they will stop at nothing to prove Kayden is hiding something.
This book is well thought out. The plot is several layers deep and this should not be a book you read in one sitting. It is a book that needs to be savored and every word mulled to make sure that no detail is lost. The backstory of both the secondary and primary characters is woven in such detail, that the reader can become submerged in all that is going on. The description of the setting - from the streets, to the pub to the castle - just adds icing to the layer's of the cake.
The author has written an intense story of intrigue, mystery and chemistry. To me, this book was a refreshing take on the written and re-written dismal in-distress love stories that are popping out a dime a dozen right now. The chemistry between Kayden and our heroine is not to be denied. But, the way this book is written, you never know who to trust. And the ending completely surprised me!!! Hopefully, the author will move up the publication of the sequel because I can't wait!!
