I received this book in exchange for an honest review. 

This is the story of Jake Woodbury, who plays center field for the New York Kings and Scarlett Moore, one of the biggest pop stars in the world. He’s always had a clean image whilst Scarlett is known for singing songs about her ex boyfriends, being sexy and provocative; an image which has been pushed by her record label.

Jake is an all-around good guy who has been hurt in the past by Roberta, a character I was not overly fond of. Scarlett is a woman who has a colorful past, but I really liked Jake and Scarlett together. 

They were two halves to the whole.

As they say opposites do attract and the chemistry between these two was almost instantaneous. From the first moment that Jake heard Scarlett sing the national anthem it was destiny. They connected over their mutual love of music. They both had secrets, but they worked through their pasts and their issues, towards what will be an incredible future.  

This book had a variety of roller coaster events that at times had me shaking my head. At times it was a very emotional read and I could feel their pain.  It was extremely well written and I also found myself smiling and laughing whilst reading.

This was a new author and series to me.  I will certainly be reading further books by Collette West in the not too distant future. Congratulations on a great book.

This is the first book I have read by Collette and it certainly won't be my last!

Jake is a baseball player struggling to come to terms with something that happened in his past!

Scarlett sings at one of Jake's games and he is so entranced by her voice that he wants to get to know her! Scarlett eyes Jake as he's playing a game and when their eyes lock,

there is a connection they both seem to feel from afar!

I loved the way they got to know each other! I felt sad about aspects of both their lives and as with any relationship theirs had lots of hiccups! Learning certain things about Jake as well as Stella you can come to understand why they are both the way they are! I really enjoyed this story of love! It was different and the characters certainly had challenges to face! All in all a great story and I did shed a few tears too!

I was given this book for a honest review

This is the first book I have read by Collette West and it won't be my last . 

I love sports romance stories and this book has got me hooked on baseball.

This is book 6 in The New York Kings Series but can be read as a standalone. I will be going back to read the previous books in the series.

Jake Woodbury on the face of it seems to have it all, playing center field for the New York Kings, he is good looking and comes from a happy family background but he has a secret that he wants to keep hidden.

Scarlet Moore is one of the biggest popstars around and when she sings the National Anthem at one of Jake's games, He is mesmerized, her voice is magical  and when their eyes meet the connection is sealed.

Jake and Scarlet are a perfect match but they need to get over the past before they can move on with the future . They inspire each other but they also  hurt each other.Will they get a HEA ......

This book is a love story with a few problems along the way, I loved how we got a insight into both of these characters pasts and I felt like I knew the other characters even without reading the previous books in the series.  If you love sports romances this series is for you

  Jake  Woodbury is the baseball star every girl dreams about.  He is a really nice guy with a good heart and a strong foundation, and he is not known for playing the field.  The breakup with his ex girlfriend Roberta really did a number on him, especially since Roberta is always seen with another teammate and helping with teammate's children.  But once Jake meets rock star Scarlett Moore, he finds his lost mojo.  Scarlett is known for chewing men up and spitting them out.  This is the story how the game changes when Scarlett and Jake are forced to deal with each other and their pasts.

This novel is well written and it has a solid pace.  The chemistry between Jake and Scarlett is undeniable.  Jake has a tendency to run and hide and this bothered me a little bit, but I think it is pretty typical considering the amount of things he was running from.  Scarlett was a well developed and strong lead female.  I enjoyed her independant flair and drive to stay true to herself, her relationships and her career.  I enjoyed the angst in this novel and did not think that it was ever over the top.  The banter between Jake and his teammates helped to seal the deal for me and made this a great book.

The author Collette West, walked the fine line with the perfect amount of sports and romance.  I look forward to reading more from this author.
