Blurb:
Never in a million years would I have pictured myself as an axe-wielding, dragon lady, chopping up multi-colored flannel shirts into my very own plaid mulch. But here I am, chopping away my frustrations.

It all started when my brother, Paul, convinced me to go on one last family road trip across the Mother Road with him and my dad.. Just like old times, right? Wrong. What Paul fails to mention is his best man, Porter, will be joining us, who just so happens to be my childhood crush and the man who broke my heart four years ago.

What is supposed to be a fun, family bonding experience across Route 66 turns into a war of pranks, awkward moments and bathrooms full of dirty flannel shirts and day old beard clippings. Paul’s know-it-all attitude and Porter’s devilish charm brings me to the brink of my sanity on my seven day trek across the United States with three bearded men in a small 1980’s RV.

The Mother Road is the first book I have read by Meghan Quinn, and to say I was pleasantly surprised is an understatement.

I have literally been laughing throughout this whole book at the amazing banter and wit that Quinn expresses through her heroine Marley McMann.

Marley is a sassy and successful young woman who is surrounded on a journey across the country by her father, her brother, and the one man who shredded her heart four years ago ... Porter Smith.

As Marley and the McMann Clan embark upon their cross country journey, she will find emotions within herself that she hasn't felt in years. It will be a life altering journey that will end up either enriching her life forever; or bringing her to her knees.

Although I felt the story line lagged in a few places. I would still give The Mother Road 5 Outstanding Stars !!!

Quinn captures so many raw and true emotions, all the while intertwining such quick wit and humor, that you will find yourself not wanting the story to end.

5 Mother of all hot dog Stars !!!

I was given this book for an honest review
Meghan Quinn is a new author to me and I am so glad I was given the chance to read and review this book that had me laughing out loud.
This story is about being stuck on an aging RV with you dad, your brother and your brothers best friend ( who you happen to have had a crush on since your teenage years) traveling on Route 66 for a whole week with men with flannels, flatulence and beards who like to play childish games ......
I loved all of these characters you have Marley who ambitious but also caring, you have her brother Paul who still acts like a teenage drama queen even though he is getting married next week. her dad Bernie with his ninja eyebrows and Porter who loves unconditionally and who always puts others needs ahead of his own.
This book is hilarious but it also a about people finding themselves and revisiting there pasts and even though I laughed out loud at times  there were also times I shed a tear.
I need to read more from Meghan Quinn

You will laugh so hard you may shed tears and pee yourself!!!!!
What can I say about this book! I felt the the start was a little slow.... but in all honesty the rest of it blew me away!
The incredible, laugh out loud humor throughout the book, made The Mother Road absolutely hilarious and a must read in my opinion!!
I thought the characters and the way they interacted with jokes and funny sayings as well as pranks made it a very entertaining read! I laughed so much and even shed some tears!
What Meghan has written will draw you into the story and make you feel a part of it!! The relationships, the places they visit all on a mission that will explain the title!
The trials and tribulations of Marley travelling with her Dad, brother and her brother's best friend Porter, in an old motorhome, is damn funny...
I absolutely loved the way it ended too! I will definitely want to read more from author Meghan Quinn!!

5 star review

This was the first book I have read by Meghan Quinn and it will not be the last. I thoroughly enjoyed The Mother Road.
Convinced by her brother to accompany him and their father on one last road trip, Marley is shocked to find out that her brother’s best friend s also accompanying them. The only problem is that Porter Smith is the man that broker Marley’s heart years ago.
Will she survive this trip with her heart intact, or will it be shattered once again?
I laughed so much I was almost in tears; I actually woke my husband with my laughter, not so good since it was 3am. This was one road trip that I didn’t want to see end.
Ms. Quinn’s ability to write realistic characters and plots made connecting with these characters easy. The writing is well executed, so much so that at times I really felt I was a part of the story.
The connection between Marley and Porter was at times cringe worthy but some of their conversations had me in tears of laughter. These two are meant to be.
Well worth the read, particularly if you are looking for a love story that will also make you laugh and smile.

4.5 Funny stars

My only word of advice is that you use the bathroom before you read this book.  It will make you pee your pants laughing.  Marley, her brother and her father set off to travel Route 66 in honor of their mother's last wishes. Unbeknownst to Marley, her brother has invited his best friend Porter. The hilarity and hi-jinx that ensue are amazing.  And the sparks that fly with Marley and Porter make this a terrific read.

Seriously, I loved the crude humor and pranks.  I loved the Dad who maintained a father like control over the "kids".  I loved the realness of this novel.  Ms. Quinn makes you fall in love with all the characters and endears them to your heart, in a way that you don't even notice.  My favorites are novels where you feel like you are reading about your best friends or family.  This is one of those books for me. I can't wait to devour something else by this amazing writer!

About the Author:

Born in New York and raised in Southern California, Meghan has grown into a sassy, peanut butter eating, blonde haired swearing, animal hoarding lady. She is known to bust out and dance if "It's Raining Men" starts beating through the air and heaven forbid you get a margarita in her, protect your legs because they may be humped.

Once she started commuting for an hour and twenty minutes every day to work for three years, she began to have conversations play in her head, real life, deep male voices and dainty lady coos kind of conversations. Perturbed and confused, she decided to either see a therapist about the hot and steamy voices running through her head or start writing them down. She decided to go with the cheaper option and started writing... enter her first novel, Caught Looking.

Now you can find the spicy, most definitely on the border of lunacy, kind of crazy lady residing in Colorado with the love of her life and her five, furry four legged children, hiking a trail or hiding behind shelves at grocery stores, wondering what kind of lube the nervous stranger will bring home to his wife. Oh and she loves a good boob squeeze!
