still afraid of me?” Courtney asks. I push her hair out of her face. “No.” “I’m
afraid of you.” “No beer muscles tonight?” I ask, glancing at her empty
glasses. She shakes her head. I scoot in closer to her. “Tell me what you’re
afraid of.” “Liking you too much,” she says then takes a drink. I turn her in
her seat so she’s facing me. “You’re gonna like me even more when I’m inside
you.” Her body grows taut. “You can’t say stuff like that. It makes me
uncomfortable.” “Well, now I’m going to have to do it more often to get you
used to it; make you crave it, beg for it.”
Courtney Cohen has inherited, by default, her fathers NBA team the Seattle Stallions, she is fresh out of college but she has a passion for basketball and she will do what she needs to do to get the respect of the team, but how do you turn a losing team into a winning team.....
Trae was the last player signed by Courtney's dad before he passed away and his contract is for one season only. The reason he agreed to come back to the NBA was because one season would set him and his little girl up for life but by coming back he needs to face his once best friend who ended his career. Will he get through one season with his heart and body intact....
The characters in this book are amazing and loveable, the love that Trae has for his beautiful daughter had me shedding a few tears. Courtney's best friend Christa had me laughing out loud which made for a perfect read of love,fun and did I mention the hot sex.
I know this book is a standalone but I really hope the MJ Fields finds it in her heart to give us more from The Seattle Stallions. This is a must read.

I'm not a big sports fan but this story made me want to
watch basketball!! I am not kidding!!
Courtney inherits the team the Seattle Stallions from her
father.
Needless to say, she has rather big shoes and job ahead to
fill, then Trae Rhodes comes back on the scene, after being injured a couple of
years ago, but only for a season!
The innuendos, the secrets, rivalry galore and some home
truths made this such a very enjoyable entertaining story!!
How does Courtney get along with the coach and the
teammates?? Does she and Trae become more than friends ? Or is it all over once
the season is finished??!! You need to read it for yourself to find out the
nitty gritty details!

First of all, I hate basketball. So when I started this book I was a little leery of the story wondering if I would really get into it. Now, I can say that Trae and Court are my new favorite couple.
Courtney inherited the Seattle Stallions after her father's passing. At the time it became hers, the Stallions were the worst team in the league. Determined that she can survive in an otherwise male dominated arena Courtney follows in her father's footsteps. The first problem is her ex, who just happens to be the main attraction for the team. Quickly Courtney learns she only has one ally on the team - Trae. Her father's last recruit onto the team before he died.
One of the best parts of this book is the witty banter between Trae and Courtney. Also, the way the story lines of both Trae and Courtney finding their acceptance with the team, parallels the way they were trying to find acceptance with each other. There is a bit of angst in this story that can pull at your heart strings. Trae plays a great single father alpha male. I loved the ground rules he laid out for Courtney. The chemistry between these two is well written and off the charts. So much changes during his season and her time. I think I might be a basketball fan now....and by the way, I read this bad boy in one night!!!
