Review Blitz: SEX IN THE STICKS by Sawyer Bennett

Wake up and feel the wood! In the first of a series of irresistible standalone romances from New York Times bestselling author Sawyer Bennett, a city girl rediscovers love and lust in the Alaskan wilderness.

Valentine French may be the sassiest dating columnist in New York City, but the abundance of metrosexuals in her adopted metropolis is seriously cramping her style. Where are the beefy all-American boys? Hoping to find some inspiration, Val heads to Alaska, where the men outnumber the women fifteen to one and wrestle grizzly bears for sport. Or so she can only imagine. Suddenly the most eligible bachelorette in a town full of horny lumberjacks, Val is writing her best columns ever. But if she doesn’t get her nose out of her laptop, she just might miss out on Mr. Right.

Logan Burke is the sheriff of the little podunk town that Val finds so charmingly backward. He’s not that different from the guys she’s using for her little experiment; it’s just that one date would never be enough for Logan. As he listens to Val complain about love over beers in the local tavern, he realizes that she can’t see the forest for the trees. Because if she would ever give up her Prada bags and fourteen-dollar martinis, Logan would give her the only luxury that matters: his heart.

I'm in love and I was from the very first chapter. Sex in the Sticks has left me needing to visit Alaska.
City rich girl Valentine French visits Alaska to find out what it's like to be out numbered by men, it's all in aid of her dating column, well that is until she meets the local Chief of police Logan Burke who happens to be drop dead gorgeous. The problem is what can a local police chief who also happens to be the mayor offer a socialite from NYC. Valentine may come from money but she has always rolled to beat of her own drum, she keeps telling herself this trip is all about her blog but deep down she really wants true love, she wants an alpha male who puts her above everything else could Logan be that man ......
This book was perfect, it's funny, sexy, romantic and it will leave you grinning like a Cheshire Cat. Is there no end to Sawyer Bennett's talent once again she has given us another 5 star read this time as a funny standalone. This was just what I love in a book, to be smiling throughout and to get a HEA. Great job Sawyer.

5 + plus stars
Logan is my absolute hero!!!!
I think I need to move to Alaska and see if the rumors are true or not lol
Also I think he has to be on my top list of book boyfriends  ^^^^
This book was the absolute BEST!
So heartwarming, so funny, so incredibly enjoyable that I had a smile on my face throughout reading it! It just made me wonder!! It made me feel and it was an absolute pleasure to read!!
I also should mention this book is off the CHARTS HOT too!!! Oh yes!!!!
Valentine leaves New York behind to experience life in a small Alaskan town, ready to meet lumberjack men and see how they compare to New York men! All this is research for her blog 'Valentines Couch'.
Needless to say since coming to town Town Chief Logan has been in her mind since day 1!
What happens between these two is an adventure that will warm your heart, make you sizzle and want to run off to Alaska, it certainly made me want to! Lol...
This is a definite must read with this being the first book in this new series and I'm so looking forward to more! I really cannot wait to see what's in store for us to read next!!

Wow, what a great book. I loved this from start to finish. When New York socialite and dating expert/blogger Valentine French decides she has had enough of the metro-sexual men she has been dating in New York, her cousin suggests she travel to the wilds of Alaska to see if she can find what is missing from her life. Little does Valentine (my friends call me Valley or Val) know that her decision will change her life in ways she cannot imagine.

This was an hilarious read, with many laugh out loud moments that had me almost in tears at the predicaments,  city girl Val gets herself into. Throw in that the population is almost 15 men to 1 woman and you can only imagine what fun is in store.

Logan Burke is the police chief in the small town of East Merritt where Val decides to visit, he is also the man who constantly comes to her rescue, swooping in to save her time and again.
Determined to date as many Alaskan men as she can, Val is off to a flying start. Complications arise, as one date after another ends badly, but true to form it gives her great material for her dating blog.

Val is instantly attracted to Logan but he does not seem to be interested, that is until she gets lost and he again rescues her and takes her back to his cabin to warm up. Sparks fly, lust abounds, will this night be more fodder for Val's dating blog?

Of course the true course of romance does not run smoothly and Logan is furious when he finds out about Val's blog posts regarding her dating adventures in Alaska.

This book is a stand alone and one that I highly recommend you read. Sawyer Bennett always brings her characters to life and her style of writing is excellent. Sex In The Sticks is one of the best books I have read this year. There was smoking hot romance, humour, edge of your seat tension as I hoped that Logan and Val would finally come together and as usually happens, I didn’t want this one to end.

I received an ARC through the publisher via Netgalley.

Since the release of her debut contemporary romance novel, Off Sides, in January 2013, Sawyer Bennett has released more than 30 books and has been featured on both the USA Today and New York Times bestseller lists on multiple occasions. A reformed trial lawyer from North Carolina, Sawyer uses real life experience to create relatable, sexy stories that appeal to a wide array of readers. From new adult to erotic contemporary romance, Sawyer writes something for just about everyone. Sawyer likes her Bloody Marys strong, her martinis dirty, and her heroes a combination of the two. When not bringing fictional romance to life, Sawyer is a chauffeur, stylist, chef, maid, and personal assistant to a very active toddler, as well as full-time servant to two adorably naughty dogs. She believes in the good of others, and that a bad day can be cured with a great work-out, cake, or a combination of the two. WEBSITE | FACEBOOK | TWITTER | BOOKBUB | AMAZON AUTHOR PAGE | INSTAGRAM
