You can call me arrogant as much as you want. But when you're the best at what you do and have the hottest restaurant on the west coast, with enough Michelin stars to make Gordon Ramsay's head spin, you've earned the right to your confidence.
When I give an instruction in the kitchen, it's not a suggestion--it's an order. So when a new chef thinks she can do things her way, and dares to say so to my face, even her sharp wit and gorgeous pouty lips don't make it okay.
But I have to admit, she's got talent. She's creative in the kitchen and not even that double-breasted chef jacket can hide her perfect body. As I get to know her, I can't help wanting to know everything she thinks. I've never met a more talented chef. And I've never met a sassier and sexier woman in my life.
There's only one way this push and pull can end.
With her in my bed, begging for more.

EXCERPT:

She lets out a sigh of relief, but my cock hears something different in her gasping exhale. I bring my thumb slowly to a speck at the side of her mouth, fingers resting on the round perfection of her jawline. She stills under my touch and catches my gaze, time slowing with the deliberateness of my movements.
I brush the speck, but don’t pull away. Instead, I bring my thumb back across those ever-pouted lips, tracing their dip and fullness, letting her feel the texture of hands rough and scarred from a lifetime in kitchens, our eyes locked together in a moment of anticipation, emotions raging like an angry sea against the dam of the distance between us.
Her lips part slightly, I feel her shortening breath on my hand, and I push my thumb between those juicy, perfect lips, fingers pressing against the base of her ear. Her gentle gasp breaks the silence, before she closes those soft lips around my thumb, the sight of them pressing against my skin making my cock full against my pants. Her teeth gently squeezing my nail, tongue flickering as I push the finger inside the hot wetness of her mouth.
My other hand already on her waist, I pull her toward me, press her lithe body up against mine. Those magnificent hips swaying and rubbing against mine, her weight shifting onto me, breasts heaving, nipples so hard now I can feel them through that sweater dress.
“You’re fucking incredible,” I growl. Prelude to pulling her toward me, my finger in her mouth still, angling her head so I can taste the tenderness of her neck, run my sensitive tastebuds down the taut muscles, follow the path that leads me to the front of her chest. Quiet moans getting louder as I run my tongue down the softness of her cleavage, her dress my enemy now as I pull it down and bury my teeth in her breasts.
“Oh God…” she moans. “Cole…”

Why have I only just found J.D. Hawkins, I loved Cocky Chef and I need to check this authors other books out.
This book is told from both characters POV so you get to hear both sides of every argument. What happens when a cocky arrogant chef meets a easy going laid back country girl, I can tell you sparks fly, but let's not forget the hot emotional moments that Cole and Willow share.
Cole Chambers is a celebrity chef and owner of Knife, the number one restaurant in LA, he doesn't suffer fools gladly and when Willow who has been hired as a line cook makes a mistake with one of his recipes tempers flare and they end up having a slanging match in the middle of his restaurant.
The last thing Willow needs is to lose her job, after all she only arrived in LA a week ago looking for a new start, so the next day she goes back to apologise to Cole and from that moment on, they find they have more in common than they thought, in fact they complement each other but what happens when trust  issues rear their ugly head, you will need to read the book to find out the rest of Cole & Willows story all I'm going to say is this is a must read book, it will make you laugh, it will make you angry and it will have you wishing and hoping that these two get their HEA. Loved it.

This was a new author to me and I cannot believe that I haven't read any other books.

Cole is a successful and talented chef who hires Willow to be the chef du jour at his multi awarded restaurant Knife.

Willow is a strong, feisty and oh so talented chef who certainly knows her way around a kitchen.

The chemistry between Cole and Willow is instantaneous; the air crackles with their attraction.

The story was interesting and certainly well written; I could almost taste the food such was the descriptive writing from JD Hawkins.

I will certainly be looking to read more from this author as soon as possible.

This was my first book by JD Hawkins and man did I love it!

I love reading books about chefs and heroines that are sassy and full of spunk! This book checked all those boxes!!

Willow, is an aspiring chef, who has attended training in France with one of the leading chefs is trying to recoup after her first attempt of running her own restaurant failed. She finds herself working in one of the hottest restaurants in LA, Knife.

Cole Chambers is the owner of Knife and is a Michelin starred chef. He’s known for not holding anything back when it comes to the running of his restaurant and those that learn his recipes.

When Cole meets Willow for the first time he’s eating in Knife as a customer and demands to know who cooked the vegetables. This was one of the best scenes in the book as Willow was the one who was cooking the vegetables that night. When she comes out to speak with Cole, she has no idea who he is and starts throwing attitude about the herbs she used. She’d only been working at Knife for a week and already she thought she had been fired.

Cole doesn’t know what to do with her but finds himself insanely attracted to her. It’s not often that he comes across a woman who isn’t afraid to give him her honest opinion.

The only problem is that Willow is looking to open up another restaurant in LA but doesn’t know how to tell Cole.

Cocky Chef was filled with angst and kept me on the edge of my seat all the way through. I loved how Willow, who’s confidence had taken a huge hit, comes into her own and starts attacking her problems head on.

Cole who starts off as a cold and almost heartless character really finds his softer side, not only through his relationship with Willow but also with working with a young girl, Chloe in a mentor program.

I thoroughly enjoyed this book and can’t wait to read more from Ms Hawkins!
