Kelly Johnson has spent her entire life skating and winning. She’s had no time for friends or an active social life, earning her the nickname “Ice Queen” – in and out of the rink. Blake makes a bet without knowing all the terms. His ego won’t let him back out, even though his target is none other than the American Ice Queen herself.   What are the odds the dreadlocked playboy can warm the frosty figure skater when the real games are unmasked? Unmasked was the first book that I've read by Magan Vernon and I loved every word of it!

This was the story of Kate and Blake who are both competing at the Winter Olympics in Korea. Kate is an American pairs figure skater and Blake is a Canadian snowboarder.

First, I loved reading about more than one sport at a time and with the background atmosphere of the Winter Olympics. I haven't read anything like that before and I really enjoyed it.

Blake is a carefree snowboarder who has blonde dreadlocks and is competing in his first ever Olympic Games. His friends put a bet on that if he can sleep with anyone of their choosing, then they will hand over their medal winnings. If not, then he has to hand them his gold medal winnings because they don't believe he'll be leaving The Games with anything less. When Blake discovers that the girl that his friends have chosen is none other than Kate "Ice Queen" Johnson, he gladly accepts the challenge.

Kate Johnson is a straight-laced, highly dedicated figure skater and is on course to win her third Olympic Gold medal. She doesn't want any distractions while she's at the Games. Except, she can't seem to stop thinking about a certain blonde haired, dreadlock wearing snowboarder.

I loved how the two characters develop throughout the story and even when things seem to go way off course for Blake and Kate, they still seem to keep on moving forward.

I highly recommend this book to anyone who loves a good sports romance!

About Magan Vernon:

Magan Vernon has been living off of reader tears since she wrote her first short story in 2004. She now spends her time killing off fictional characters, pretending to plot while she really just watches Netflix, and she tries to do this all while her two young children run amok around her Texas ranch.
