About the Book
He should’ve never left his house. He should’ve stayed at home. He has a legitimate excuse—he’s running a fever and he’s fairly sure he’s developing pneumonia. He should have called in sick…but he doesn’t.
He goes to work, because his team is relying on him.
First, he has to sign about eight thousand calendars—all from women who purchased said calendars to benefit the Fallen Officer fundraiser. And when he’s done with that, he has to endure a television interview along with the rest of the SWAT team seeing as they made national news with their ‘Hot SWAT’ calendar that’s sold a million copies to women all over the world.
Needless to say, when Samuel Adams walks into the pharmacy hours later, he only has one thing on his mind. Ibuprofen.
Sadly, he never gets to the Ibuprofen. Mostly because before he gets there, he finds a junkie waving a gun around threatening to kill anybody that moves.
He’s running a fever. That has to be the reason that the girl in the corner begins cursing up a storm and drawing the junkie’s attention. Has to be.

Stop it, stop it, stop it!
She tells herself to take a deep breath. Tells herself that she needs to calm down. Tells herself that if she doesn’t get her act under control, things are going to get ugly.
And, of course, that’s when the curse words start flying.
The more nervous she gets, the worse her Tourette’s becomes. Which is, of course, why she stands up and gives the man a perfect target.
Thank God that the coughing giant in the corner makes the same move and saves her life.
And how does she repay him? By calling him every awful word in the dictionary.
Thank you, Tourette’s.

Crazy situations filled with heartwarming and heartbreaking moments with touches of danger, personal challenges and two people who just seem to fit together make this story one that I couldn’t put down.
Sammy and Hastings have immediate chemistry but also an innocence about them when it came to relationships. They are sweet, adorable and just plain perfect together! And even though they haven’t known each other long, their lives have been dramatically changed and there is so much that will keep them connected forever!
On a personal note, I love that Ms. Vale took the opportunity to highlight Tourette syndrome with a character. She did an amazing job of the characters keeping it an open conversation and the judgment out of it and that is all someone who has it wants.
Lani Lynn Vale delivers another witty and sweet romance with her latest release, Say It Ain’t So.
This book caught and held my attention all the way through due to how unique the heroine is.
Hastings is an author but she is also has Tourette’s Syndrome. It’s mild but when she gets highly anxious things start flying out of her mouth that she can’t control. So when she’s involved in a Walgreen’s robbery, she can’t help it and starts saying “Pew, pew, pew”.
Sammy Adams Spurlock feels like rubbish and just wants to go home but first he has to sit through an interview and sign what feels like a million calendars. So when he finally gets to Walgreens to pick up some meds for his flu symptoms, the last thing he needs is to be involved in a robbery. When he ends up next to Hastings and she starts spouting sounds and words he isn’t exactly happy.
The relationship that develops between Hastings and Sammy is angsty and emotional but filled with bits of humour as well. I loved the action and suspense that’s throughout the book.
Can’t wait to read the team member’s book!
