This is the story of Phoenix Romero and Dante Leone. They fell in love as young adults and then a tragedy struck which caused them both to lose one another for years.
Phoenix Romero loves living her life with her sister Reina and their friends in Paris. Phoenix is an accomplished pianist who is also deaf due to a childhood illness. I loved the passion and strength that Phoenix portrays throughout this book. She doesn’t let her disability sway her from doing anything.
Dante Leone is a member of the Leone family who runs the underworld in Trieste, Italy. He hates his evil father with every fibre of his being after what he put Dante and his brother Amon through as kids. Dante is very familiar with the underworld and knows about the true evils. He’s constantly chasing for just one aspect of light and when he finds Phoenix he doesn’t understand the compulsion to always be near her.
This book is filled with turmoil, heartbreak and plenty of steamy action. I loved reading how Phoenix and Dante find their way back to one another as well as what they both have to overcome.
I definitely recommend this book and can’t wait to read the next one!
