Seventy shades of messed up.
That was what she’d been told about herself for nearly her entire life.
From a young age, she knew what it was like to be hated. To be loathed so much by a person that they literally resented the air you breathed.
For her entire childhood, she fought to live, despite her father’s constant effort to make her life a living hell.
Her sisters and brother have no clue what kind of closet psychopath their father really was, and she’ll die before she ruins their picture-perfect view of him.
Why? Because she’s already broken. There’s no fixing this kind of damaged. But there’s no reason everyone else needs to suffer, too.
***
From the moment Hannibal Peters laid eyes on Hades Singh, he knew she was the one.
That was why he ran.
That was why, when he saw her suffering, he couldn’t stay away.
After reading book 2 and how Hades Singh’s character was portrayed, you wouldn’t be wrong in thinking she was exactly my favourite character of the family. However, after reading Show Off, I have a whole new appreciation for Hades and what she has gone through.
Hannibal Peters is a security specialist who runs his own company. When Hades’ brother calls him for help with Caristonia’s stalker situation, he meets Hades and can’t seem to get her out of his head. When Hades turns up, unexpectedly, he doesn’t know what to think.
I loved how protective Hannibal was of Hades. They both have extreme personalities but the two of them fit together perfectly. Hades’ character makes you believe one thing until you really get to know her. She’s complex but still feisty and fights for what she wants.
I absolutely loved this book and can’t recommend this or the entire series enough.
