I loved reading Miles and Emma’s story! Emma is recently single after discovering the long term relationship that she was in was going nowhere. 

Miles Thatcher, is a single Dad who works in law enforcement and is just trying to do his best to make sure the world his seven year old daughter grows up isn’t filled with the scum of the earth. 

When Emma’s best friend, Miranda, brings Emma over to cheer her up after her break-up, she meets Miles and his daughter. Emma is instantly attracted to Miles but knows that it would be too messy for them to become involved. Too complicated with friendships, work colleagues, children, everything. 

But when Miles is suddenly caught without someone to pick up and look after his daughter while he’s working on a case, he suddenly finds himself calling on Emma for help. Emma is more than happy to help out Miles and finds herself falling into a routine that sees her becoming quite comfortable with Miles, which scares the pants off of her. 

I loved how both characters developed throughout this story. More so Emma, because she has a lot of emotional hurdles she needs to overcome. Miles, is a fantastic character. He’s protective, but not overbearing, and loves ferociously. Both characters were written extremely well and you can honestly see them being in the real world. 

I’m loving this series and can’t wait to see what happens in the next book!
