It’s unique and even though it has secondary characters who are part of an MC, the main hero is not! He’s actually a lumberjack! How cool is that?! Romeo is amazing. I love his back story and how Apollo helps him start a new life.
Mable (I love this name!!) is a heroine that I am absolutely obsessed with! She’s atypical and bossy and I love it! Her job is a heavy machinery operator, so think backhoes and machinery you would see on a construction site. It’s so cool! She still has that sassy personality that all of Lani Lynn Vale’s characters have though who will have you laughing at her antics.
This story line had me absorbed right from the start. Mable is fighting with her father and refuses to speak with her stepmother and stepsister. She thinks her stepsister is a monster who is out to get her. Well, hold on to your seats because you are in for one hell of a ride! This story is full of twists and turns and I couldn’t get enough of it.
I love how Romeo is a big giant but has a sweet center when it comes to Mable. He’s still protective but lets Mable fight her own battles, when needed. Absolutely love this!
Honestly, this book was brilliant from start to finish and there isn’t one bad thing I can say about it. Go buy it now!

House of BS & Lies is a strong start to the series, drawing you in from the first page. I loved the connections to previous characters, which gave the story a familiar and enjoyable feel.
