My mouth grew dry. His words alone were lighting my body on fire.

I straightened my shoulders, and shrugged off his hold.

“It’s not yours until you claim it Royal, and I already gave you that chance so I guess we will see what happens tonight.” I couldn’t give him a chance to respond because I knew I would be to weak to say no to him. There was no way I could resist Royal. He was a drug that I wanted more than anything else. I was an addict for his love, and I hadn’t even had a taste of it yet.
 He let me go, for whatever reason, maybe it was because he finally got what I was saying or he just knew I needed time alone. Whichever it was, I wouldn’t be turning around to say thank you, or to ask why.

 No. I needed to get drunk and find someone to take care of me. If Royal didn’t want me like I wanted him right this second then there would be someone else that wanted me just as much. Pushing all thoughts of Royal to the back of my mind, I walked out of the house and out to my jeep getting in it and heading towards the Falls.
The line had been drawn in the sand. Royal was on one side, and I was on the other. 

Royal is sent to live with his estranged father, step-mom and step-sister after getting into trouble one too many times. Noelle, the step sister, is a good girl whose mom is just a little too much.  When Royal and Noelle are forced to live in the same house, we learn not only that they have incredible chemistry but that the things they believed about their past are not what they seem.

This is a well written faced paced novel.  I did not feel that the plot was predictable and enjoyed the twists  and turns.   I felt that the characters acted age appropriate when dealing with the incidents that occurred.  Lots of heat coupled with deep characters and an intriguing plot, this book is a win!

I was given this book for an honest review
This was very different to what I expected and I think its a great introduction to what looks like a great action filled series. 
Grayson meets Ellie in a nightclub and they hook up for what they both believe to be a one night stand but is it just going to be one night ......
Sparks fly as soon as these two meet but they both have secrets, He is a hired Killer and she is on the run, could there secrets be intertwined ....... 
We also get introduced to a lot of secondary characters who are all totally bad ass.
I really don't want to give to much away and I really believe this could become a brilliant dark suspense series. This short but fast paced book had me from page 1 and considering dark reads are not normally my choice that should tell you something. I do have to say there is a cliffhanger but hopefully the next installment will be out soon.

 

This short book is jammed back with action.  You have Grayson who is self proclaimed "one of the most dangerous men in the city."  He has worked for his Boss for many years, including a time when he thought perhaps his boss had something to do with his sister's death.  Meet Ellie, who is running from a past that appears to be all to full of murder and violence.  Both are out looking for a person to relieve their stress.  When their encounter is interrupted when Grayson has to complete business, Grayson is left with no choice but to kill her or bring her home.  

This is a solid fast paced novel.  I read it in one day.  I don't know that the novel was long enough for me to get completely attached to the characters.  I think I needed just a little more of their back stories for me to really care about some of the choices they made, and then it ended all too soon and on a cliffie!!!  This book is definitely worth the read, the plot is original and thought provoking.

Received an ARC for an honest review

This is my first read by JL Beck....Now I want more!!

The chemistry between Chase and Gia was off the hook.

Both college students, both can't stand one another. Both have this magnetic pull to one another.

Chase is the playboy, Gia the good girl trying to keep her grades up to top of her class!

You mix those two together and you have fireworks. 

Their love hate relationship only brought them together. They couldn't stay away. The story was hot, and emotional. You don't read a lot of stories where the men open up and become girls LOL!

Over all I liked it, I need more now though. Seeing that this book brought two series together has me rushing to Amazon and one clicking.

I was given this book for a honest review.
This is the first book I have read by J.L Beck and it won't be the last, I was hooked from the first page. 
Chase is a hot, sexy alpha manwhore that deep down knows its Gia he really wants but is he capable of being tied down to one woman or will he hurt her ......
Gia wants to get through school but she also knows in her heart she wants to tame the bad boy...
When Gia and her friend move into a basement apartment the last thing she expects is for the people she is renting from to be Chase and his twin brother Chance who happens to be tutoring her..... 
There is so much sexual tension between Chase and Gia and I found myself waiting for the bang. Chase really has a heart of gold but will he ever show it and more to the point will Gia let him ........
What can I say this book has a set of hot sexy twins but it also has humor and when the parents get involved I was laughing out loud. I could not put this book down and I will be reading more from J.L Beck

This is the first book by JL Beck I have read and I must say I really enjoyed reading Worth the Chase! This is a college romance story which features twin brothers Chase and Chance!

Gia is moving into a shared house with her best friend Taylor, who she hasn't seen in a while! Little do they know who they are renting from!! I loved Gia, she was rather hooked on Chase, despite them having a love hate friendship of sorts! Chance tutors Gia to help her do well in her tests, but she is always distracted by Chase! When they eventually hook up well things kind of don't go to plan! Is it just one night or do they both feel the same??!! I loved the way Chase would defend Gia. Then the way he asked his Dad for advice! Needless to say I think both their parents gave them wonderful advice! Gia's family were funny, really! The men giving Chase the talk.... If you hurt her....lol! What happens with them?? Read it and find out! This book was rather entertaining and easy to read! I will definitely want to read more!
