What happens when an almost thirty-year-old virgin agrees to let her Scottish footballer best friend give her some lessons in seduction? Lots of banter, awkwardness, jealousy, and heat. Midfielder Maclay “Mac” Logan is a loud-mouthed, tattooed ginger content with focusing on football. But when an adorably-freckled seamstress comes barreling into his life, he finds Netflix-And-Bickering with her to be his new favorite pastime. Freya Cook is used to being the invisible woman with a needle and thread, offering cheeky punchlines as she helps dress London’s finest. She’s plus-sized in body and spirit, and other than her friendship with Mac, talking to the opposite sex is one skill she never mastered. However, after one innocent game of Never Have I Ever, Mac offers to play Love Coach for Freya. What neither of them see coming are the feelings that develop when the clothes come off. Now they’re both about to learn the biggest lesson of all: Don't fall in love with your best friend. available graphic

review

Having met Maclay “Mac” Logan and Freya Cook in recent Harris Brothers books I could not wait to dive in to Blindsided, a friends to lovers story.

I was intrigued by Mac and Freya from the start. They both seem like such fun loving, caring and loyal people and ones I would happily call friends.

Mac ticked all the boxes for me, totally swoon worthy and his unconditional love for Freya melted me.

Freya has always been on the outside, never truly comfortable with the opposite sex, she blends into the background. That is until her best friend Mac takes her under his wing. I am not sure I will ever look at a game of Never Have I Ever in the same way again.

The banter between the two of them had me in tears, they were just so funny and the chemistry once they got over the awkwardness was intense.

What happens when they cross the line of friendship? Is this the start of something wonderful or will their friendship be destroyed?

Amy Daws delivers a highly entertaining story with characters who are flawed and not afraid to admit it. There is nothing that I didn’t love about it their story. Blindsided was everything I hoped for and so much more.

Where to start and what to say to do this amazing entertaining read justice !!!!
This is one of the best romantic comedies I have read this year, it was everything I expected and so much more. From the very first chapter you are left laughing out loud at Freya Cook’s hilarious antics and what can I say about the hot Scott Maclay Mac Logan apart from you will love him.....
Freya is a lady who always seems to be the one watching everyone else, she has never really been comfortable in her own skin and she always just blends into the background but she always knows she can rely on her best friend Mac and when she asks for help on the dating front that’s when the fun and games really begin.... Never have I Ever is now a game that will always remind me of this extremely funny book and this wonderful couple. The banter is so funny I found myself crying and snorting out loud but it was the chemistry and the feelings this couple have that really set this book on fire. The lines of friendship are crossed but does that mean the end of a wonderful friendship or the start of a wonderful relationship.......
Blindsided is a must read for all lovers of sports romance as well as rom com lovers and It’s certainly going on my best reads of this year.

Amy Daws has written another amazingly witty and hilarious rom-com with her latest release of Blindsided!

Right from the beginning I was cracking up laughing at Freya’s antics. I absolutely love the fact that Freya is a plus size heroine. There aren’t enough female characters written in books who are plus sized so thank you Amy!

Freya is best friends with a big, Scottish footballer (or soccer player) who plays for Bethnal Green FC named Maclay, but everyone calls him Mac. Their friendship is hysterical and they are constantly bickering back and forth. Freya is 29 and is still a virgin. She’s had some horrible past experiences when she’s tried to date and is afraid she’s going to turn into a crazy old cat lady. So when the brilliant idea comes to Freya, she asks her best friend Mac to be her love coach. She knows that Mac is strictly her best friend and doesn’t have to worry about feelings developing between them.

“The thought of Mac wanting to shag me is like a Great Dane having the hots for an overweight Shih Tzu.” – Freya

Freya has a lot of insecurities that play out throughout the book but Mac is always there for her and making sure she knows and slowly makes her realise that she’s beautiful just as she is.

Mac has his own issues and believes that if he gets into a relationship with any woman that his football game will be affected. So when he finds himself coaching Freya and then slowly realising that he has more than friendly feelings for her he doesn’t know what to do.

I absolutely loved reading this book and would highly recommend it to everyone!

excerpt I wake the next morning to a rough tongue touching my nipple. A smile spreads across my face as I open my eyes and expect to find Freya. My face falls when I see it’s her fucking demon of a cat laving at my pec like it’s going to produce milk at any moment. “Fuck off, you wee bastard!” I bellow and shove the animal off my chest. Hercules takes off down the hallway, and a snort echoes in the room. I turn my gaze to find Freya perched on a chair in the corner of her bedroom. She’s dressed in a long nightshirt, her red hair a wild mess of curls, and her makeup smudged like she was properly fucked last night. And she looks positively entertained. “Did you just sit there and watch your cat violate me?” I croak, sitting up and rubbing my tender nipple. She giggles and steadies herself so as not to spill the two cups of coffee in her hands. “I came in to bring you a coffee, but Hercules looked like he was warming up to you, so I just sat down here to not interrupt. I had no idea he was going to lick your tit.” She bursts out laughing all over again. “You and I are in a fight then,” I reply gruffly, propping myself up on the headboard of her bed. “That was disturbing.” She nods, her face still tormented with poorly concealed laughter. “For us all.” giveaway
