Guarding Shadows is the blend of two of my favourite genres of romance - military and rockstar. 

This is the story of Quinn Wylder and Tanner Clarke. Tanner and Quinn meet shortly before Tanner is due to be medically discharged from the Army. Quinn is on a European tour with her new band and agrees to do an interview while in Germany. 

Fast forward, and Tanner is now living as a civilian except thanks to his diagnosis of PTSD as well as his physical troubles, is struggling to find his way in this new world. With very little support from his family and the VA, Tanner hits a really hard patch. 

Quinn is touring the US with her band and has started receiving these really threatening messages. At first she wasn’t worried but now they are escalating and she’s starting to fear the worst could happen. She remembers her encounter with Tanner and seeks him out. Tanner is so happy to hear from Quinn that when she asks for his help in protecting her and the band, he couldn’t agree fast enough. 

This story will not only touch your heart but your soul as well. These two authors truly shine a light on what a veteran who has PTSD really experiences in their day to day life. I loved reading this book and the message it portrays will absolutely stay with me for quite some time. 

I can’t recommend this book highly enough!

Crashing East was a little difficult to get into at the start for me. I really didn’t get a good read on Julian initially but he definitely redeemed himself a whole lot.

He may be trying but with some sadness surrounding him, needless to say when his niece shows up, he isn’t quite sure about anything.

Hadley may be a personal assistant but she is so much more than her family sees. Having Julian as her neighbor gets on her nerves. Hes arrogant, loud and broody.

I mean who could blame him really.

What I really enjoyed about this book was the way Hadley could calm his storm. How she makes him see what Naomi potentially needs. When it comes down to it, hes a caring uncle with a heart of gold. An enjoyable, heartfelt story.

Crashing East is the first book that I’ve read by Aly Stiles and I loved it!

This is a fantastic rockstar romance telling the story of Julian Campbell and Hadley Crawford. 

Julian used to be a member of what he thought was a successful rock group, Crushing East until things fell apart. Now he’s got a second chance at success with a new group but things always have a way of going sideways. 

Hadley Crawford comes from a very successful family of models and actors/actresses. Her family has always pressured her to follow in their footsteps but she has never wanted that. She’s quite content being the personal assistant to a highly successful pop princess now turned front woman to a new rock group. If only, her upstairs neighbour would learn to keep the music down in the early hours of the morning!

When Hadley turns up at the new recording studio where Viv’s new band is going to be working, never in a million years was she expecting to see her bothersome neighbour. But things aren’t always what they seem. 

Julian has personal issues compounding his efforts of making this new group successful. When Hadley turns out to be his saving grace, things start to develop between the two of them. 

I thoroughly enjoyed reading this unique spin on a rockstar romance. The vulnerabilities shown between Julian and Hadley makes this book captivating and the character development excellent. 

I highly recommend this book!
