About QUIT YOUR PITCHIN'

What’s wrong with my butt? She means those words to be directed toward the woman beside her, not him. But he can’t stop himself from answering. Not when her ass is the most magnificent thing he’s seen in his life. Apparently, answering her with ‘not a damn thing’ wasn’t what she was expecting. She likely wasn’t expecting the baseball she took to the face at his next at bat, either. All it takes is one ill-fated foul ball, and George Hoffman, Lumberjacks center fielder, falls head over heels in love with Wrigley Field—and yes, that is her real name. From that point forward, George and Wrigley fall into a fast whirlwind love that ends with them eloping to Vegas. And he has his potty mouth, titty bar owning, pain in the ass grandmother to thank for it. Not that he’s complaining or anything. Who wouldn’t want to be married to a woman that made his heart race like he was in the final game of the World Series? The only problem is trying to convince her of that.

4 Star Review Quit Your Pitchin (There’s No Crying In Baseball #2) by Lani Lynn Vale

This was a new author to me and I have no idea why that is. This was at times an emotional roller coaster of a read with plenty of laugh out load moments along with angst, sorrow and heartache.

This is Furious George Hoffman and Wrigley Field's book (yes you read that right). I have to say that the names were what drew me to read this book in the first place and I am so glad I did.

I really fell hard and fast for George Hoffman, what a man. Ironically when Wrigley attends the Lumberjack baseball game she has no clue who the players are, she is just going to appease her younger sister Diamond. Not only that, but despite her name she has no interest in baseball.; a fact that Furious George finds delightful when he meets her.

When Wrigley gets hit in the face with a baseball thanks to George he immediately goes to her assistance. George is attracted to the feisty Wrigley and she is equally entranced.

Following a drunken visit to Las Vegas, George and Wrigley find themselves married and what follows is a story with plenty of twists and turns and some surprises I did not see coming.

I really loved the secondary character of George’s grandmother, she had me cracking up with laughter numerous times.

This book was well written with characters that kept me entertained and I cannot wait to read more in this series.

4.5 Stars

I could not put this book down!

From the very first page I was hooked. The character names are so unique and stay with you throughout the entire book. The heroine's family is all named after well known baseball fields or baseball terms like Wrigley (the heroine), Diamond (her sister) and her brother is named Dodger.

What makes this book funny is that Wrigley starts this book not knowing a thing about baseball but goes to a game with her sister to appease her. From the start she's cursed with getting hit by foul balls and it made me crack up each and every time. I loved Wrigley's character!

George Hoffman is a professional baseball player who’s foul ball is the one that hits poor Wrigley. When he sees her for the first time he knows he’s met his match. George is one of those big intimidating looking guys but is really just a big ol’ teddy bear underneath. Well, that is unless someone threatens his family.

The twists and turns in this book had my head swirling but in a really good way! I had to know what happened next. I gobbled this book up in less than 24 hours which almost never happens to me!

I can’t wait for the next book!
